At FRONTSTEPS, we challenge each other, push boundaries, and build industry-leading solutions together. If you’re looking for a place to grow, make a difference, and be part of something bigger, this is it.

POSITION OVERVIEW
To operate at peak performance, we need timely, accurate data to guide our pricing, product, and investment decisions. Today, valuable information lives across multiple systems and database structures, making it challenging to quickly unlock insights. By bringing on a dedicated business-intelligence (BI) expert, we will unify these data sources, streamline access to key metrics, and deliver fast, reliable answers to critical questions such as GRR, NRR, churn, and feature adoption. This role will transform raw data into clear, actionable insights—empowering executives to make fact-based, forward-looking decisions that drive growth and innovation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Build, automate, and maintain pipelines across multiple systems; normalize schemas and load into a central lake/warehouse; use SQL and AI tools to prototype solutions; schedule daily/hourly refreshes to keep dashboards live and kill manual reports.
  • Provide self‑serve analytics. With a consolidated dataset, they will create dashboards covering metrics such as ARR growth, churn, usage, daily active users, upsells and support backlog. Executives will have a single source of truth, accelerating decision‑making and improving productivity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Engineering, and Customer Success to translate fuzzy questions into data plans, surface opportunities, and drive roadmap decisions.
  • Create an automated customer walk across core and legacy systems. The BI leader will develop a “customer walk” that follows the end‑to‑end journey through our core products. It will be automated to avoid manual updates and equipped with embedded quality‑control checks so the team can trust the data feeding operational and product decisions.
  • Serve as the organization’s data champion – helping to shape the data-stack strategy, weigh investment decisions, and ultimately builder and foster a culture of data literacy.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s in quantitative field (Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-8 years in analytics engineering / data modeling / BI.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, Azure, Power BI, Postgres, and other modern BI tools.
  • Proficient in data modeling, ETL, automation.
  • Comfortable writing complex queries against relational databases, normalizing data into a common schema, and orchestrating automated refreshes.
  • Proven experience in understanding complicated datasets, consolidating, and building intuitive and useful reporting for end users.
  • Demonstrated success presenting complex analyses to execs and non-technical audiences—comfortable running the meeting, fielding questions, and influencing outcomes.
  • Experience mapping customer journeys across products and implementing automated quality-control checks.
  • Strong business intuition.
  • Willingness to be full-time in our Denver, Colorado office.
