Job Title: Principal Cloud Ops Engineer Lead
Job Duties: Deploy and maintain architected cloud infrastructure solutions to support applications’ business and technical requirements. Design and implement state-of-the-art technical solutions on cloud infrastructure that address business requirements for scalability, reliability, security, automation, and performance. Work on operational engineering activities which include platform upgrades, server patching, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting and documentation. Identify, design, and deploy appropriate monitoring/alerting of service events related to performance, scalability, availability, and reliability. Provide 24/7 support as part of an on-call rotation team that responds to afterhours infrastructure alerts and calls from the application support team. Define and maintain critical cloud policies regarding Security, Service Level Agreements, Disaster Recovery, Shared Responsibility, Acceptable Use, Data Retention etc. Contribute on cloud strategy discussions, and decisions on overall cloud design and best approach for implementing cloud solutions. Position supervises 4 Sr. CloudOps Engineers. Position permits telecommuting from within the U.S.
Required education: Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or related.
Required experience: 60 months of progressive experience as Senior Software Engineer; or Senior Site Reliability Engineer; or DevOps Engineer; or related occupation.
Additional minimum requirements: work experience to include at least 60 months of the following:
- Jenkins, SaltStack, Ansible, Cloudwatch, DataDog within Linux and Windows systems.
- Automating software testing at multiple levels including components, configuration item, subsystem, and system.
- Terraform, Lacework, VMWare, and AWS to control infrastructure and network.
- Delivering software features, fixes, and updates using Python, bash/shell script, JSON, YAML, and the Riak, Solr, Mongo and Elasticsearch databases.
