Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session.
The DISH Wireless Principal Cloud Network Architect will be the technology lead for internal and external customer engagements. This role requires deep expertise in cloud-native service provider infrastructure and the ability to drive technology innovation for DISH Wireless' cloud-based open network.
As a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, the architect will lead cross-functional teams, ensuring the successful definition, deployment, and value realization of cloud networking solutions.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Master's or PhD in Telecommunication,Computer Science, Electrical, or a related field
  • Serve as lead Consulting Architect for key accounts, defining cloud network strategies and architectures across customer organizations
  • Lead architecture design and field deployment handovers for DISH Wireless cloud solutions
  • Translate business requirements into scalable and repeatable cloud solutions
  • Align cloud networking strategies with business objectives and product roadmaps
  • Assess current network architectures and recommend future-state technology architectures
  • Define use cases, objectives, and architectures to support business needs
  • Ensure alignment between business strategy, IT roadmaps, and deployment teams
  • Develop system and application architectures for cloud-based service provider networks
  • Present architectural recommendations to executive leadership
  • Drive customer feedback loops into DISH Wireless product engineering teams
  • Deliver whitepapers, presentations, and public speaking engagements showcasing DISH Wireless' cloud journey
  • Work independently in a high-impact team with minimal oversight

Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience architecting transport networks within a cloud-native service provider infrastructure
  • Expertise in cloud-based routing solutions, including overlay and underlay architectures
  • Experience migrating and transforming legacy workloads to cloud environments
  • Proficiency in software development tools for cloud deployment and lifecycle management
  • Deep knowledge of networking protocols, including:
    • BGP, Segment Routing, MPLS, and ISIS for large-scale hybrid and multi-cloud deployments
    • L2/L3 VPNs, IPSEC, GRE tunneling, and data center fabric architectures.
    • Traffic shaping, QoS, and CoPP techniques for large-scale cloud networks
  • Hands-on experience deploying containerized virtual routing functions using HELM charts
  • Experience designing and implementing routing and traffic policies in disaggregated cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of automation and orchestration tools for simplifying network operations
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including collaboration with security ISVs
  • Experience in vendor management, evaluation, and selection
  • Ability to adapt to emerging technologies and work in high-ambiguity environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., CCIE SP, Cloud Architect, AWS, GCP, or equivalent industry certifications)
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, or Terraform)
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes, VMware, and white-box networking technologies
  • Experience working with ISVs to onboard cloud-native applications
  • Public speaking experience, with a track record of presenting at industry events
  • Proven ability to create executive-level roadmaps, technical best practices, and architecture diagrams

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $127,050.00/Year - $200,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
