As a Principal Business Development Leader here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a key role in driving business growth and identifying new opportunities for the business. You will be responsible for conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with key stakeholders to develop and execute business strategies.

In this role, the impact of a Principal Business Development Manager is comprehensive, encompassing strategic leadership, market analysis, competitive intelligence, market expansion, lead generation, sales strategy, data analysis, strategic partnerships, team leadership, performance measurement, risk management, cost optimization, strategic planning, and fostering an innovation culture. Your role is instrumental in driving business growth, maintaining a strong market position, and achieving organizational success for technology development up to TRL6.

Location: Remote. Within easy daily access to locations with concentrations of Science and Technology (S&T) customers, examples include Colorado Springs, CO and Plymouth, MN. Travel of up to 50% required across domestic US and could be more dependent on location in proximity to key customers

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the pursuit of external Advanced Technology funding up to TRL6 for Electromagnetic Defense Solutions. 
  • Understand the technology funding market and new technology trends for assigned focus areas, uncover non-obvious opportunities and customers for Honeywell to provide value through new technologies, and help provide technology differentiation for future Honeywell products
  • Lead regular engagement and form strong relationships with potential customers and partners in government agencies, universities, national labs, small companies, consortia, and OEMs. 
  • Work with AAT RTCs, GBEs, COEs, and other internal organizations to lead the formulation of effective business development strategies for external technology funding.
  • Lead Advanced Technology to help shape customer requirements and objectives for specific funding opportunities. Ensure Honeywell has sufficient insight to prepare for upcoming opportunities before requests for proposals, calls, BAAs etc. are posted.
  • Manage the Advanced Technology pursuit process from initial concept and early customer engagement through to contract award. Lead Honeywell to develop customer presentations, white papers, and proposals at appropriate pursuit stages.
  • Lead an effective business development MOS. Drive prioritization of business opportunities to maintain a strong, sustainable multi-year pipeline, and optimize the use of available internal resources.
Qualifications

US PERSONS REQUIREMENT

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements.


YOU MUST HAVE

  • 10+ years of professional engineering/science-related experience with demonstrated competency in advanced engineering and/or research in one or more RF technologies, EW, Radar, or related technologies, and leading engineering/research technology development teams and programs
  • Proven capability to lead teams to cultivate and capture advanced technology funding from Government and related sources with a track record of high win rates. 
  • Ability to obtain and hold TS/SCI clearance.

  • Ability to articulate strategies in clear, concise and decisive manner. 

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $158000-198,000.  For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $182,000-228000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
