As a Planning Supervisor at our Monument, CO facility, you will lead the planning function to ensure customer demand is translated into executable production plans that drive on-time delivery, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency. You will develop and coach a team of planners while partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Materials, and customers to ensure successful execution of planning strategies and achievement of business objectives.

What Will You Do?Leadership & Team Development- Recruit, interview, and hire planning team members.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to define candidate requirements and support workforce planning needs.
- Monitor team turnover and implement retention initiatives to improve employee engagement and stability.
- Identify individual and team development opportunities and create action plans to enhance capabilities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain training programs and planning curricula.
- Establish clear performance goals and track results against key operational metrics.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance management support to team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
- Lead planning teams through changing business priorities and operational challenges.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of recognition and reward programs.
- Support the development and execution of site planning initiatives and strategies.
- Lead the planning team in creating and maintaining accurate and achievable production plans.
- Ensure customer demand is properly translated into Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Develop, maintain, and load MPS data into the ERP system.
- Reconcile production schedules against customer purchase order coverage to minimize company liability.
- Drive achievement of planning performance metrics, including maintaining a 95% or greater MPS attainment goal.
- Ensure build readiness through proper material, capacity, and resource planning.
- Analyze material and capacity requirements and communicate constraints to leadership, operations teams, and customers.
- Maintain accurate revenue forecasts and implement corrective actions when forecast risks are identified.
- Manage material liability, inventory exposure, and customer commitments.
- Monitor and optimize material flow to support efficient manufacturing operations.
- Support Workcells in achieving material cost reduction and inventory optimization objectives.
- Manage internal purge activities and inventory disposition processes.
- Support End-of-Life (EOL) planning activities, including leading cross-functional meetings and developing execution strategies.
- Ensure production plans are supported by valid customer purchase orders, sufficient material availability, accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and system data.
- Serve as the planning subject matter expert for production scheduling and demand management activities.
- Partner with Operations, Materials, Production Control, Supply Chain, and Business Unit teams to support customer requirements.
- Meet regularly with manufacturing and Workcell teams to review production schedules, optimize run quantities, and minimize changeovers.
- Support customer needs through standard processes while identifying customized solutions when necessary.
- Communicate planning risks, opportunities, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels within the planning organization and across functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, inventory performance, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and security requirements.
- Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Directly supervises Planning personnel within the site.
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, development, and retention of planning team members.
- Typically reports to a Planning Manager, Materials Manager, or Site Materials Manager.
- Leads planning activities and serves as a key liaison between customers, operations, and supply chain organizations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of planning experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, production planning, scheduling, and demand management.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, material planning, capacity planning, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of component lead times, production run rates, test development timelines, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to develop and manage Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with forecasting, revenue planning, and inventory liability management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong customer-service orientation and business acumen.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with competing priorities.
