Physical Security Manager | Vantor, Inc.

Vantor is seeking an experienced Physical Security Manager to lead and enhance the company’s physical security program across facilities, personnel, and operations. This role is responsible for developing and managing programs that protect employees, visitors, assets, and sensitive environments while supporting a collaborative and productive workplace.

The Physical Security Manager will oversee facility security operations, manage armed security personnel, and ensure secure areas meet required government compliance standards. This role will also support the planning, construction, and accreditation of secure facilities used for classified programs. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, capable of designing scalable security programs while effectively managing day-to-day operations and responding to evolving risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage Vantor’s enterprise physical security strategy and policies across corporate and secure facilities.
  • Oversee facility access control systems, CCTV, alarms, intrusion detection, and visitor management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) requirements and other applicable government security standards.
  • Lead planning, coordination, and compliance activities for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) in accordance with ICD 705 standards.
  • Support the design, physical construction, modification, and accreditation of SCIFs and other secure spaces, coordinating with architects, contractors, accrediting officials, and security stakeholders.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits across facilities.
  • Develop and implement physical security countermeasures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Manage and supervise armed guard force operations, including scheduling, training oversight, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure armed security personnel operate in accordance with company policy, state law, and applicable federal security requirements.
  • Oversee incident response, security investigations, and emergency management procedures related to physical security events.
  • Coordinate with IT security, corporate leadership, HR, legal, and facility teams to ensure integrated security practices.
  • Manage relationships with security vendors, guard services, and system integrators.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, crisis management procedures, and business continuity support functions.
  • Deliver security awareness and safety training for employees.
  • Produce security reports, metrics, and strategic recommendations for leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate or industrial security, military security operations, or law enforcement.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing physical security programs for sensitive or regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM requirements and industrial security practices.
  • Experience supporting ICD 705 secure facility compliance and accreditation processes.
  • Experience overseeing facility security systems including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection.
  • Experience managing security incidents, investigations, and emergency response operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), or similar.
  • Direct experience supporting SCIF construction, accreditation, or secure facility lifecycle management.
  • Prior people management experience, ideally of an armed guard force or protective security team. (Qualifications or prior certification as a firearms instructor, use-of-force instructor, or de-escalation instructor.).
  • Background in law enforcement, military security forces, or federal protective services.
  • Familiarity with government security programs, classified environments, or defense industry operations, to include ITAR restrictions and export-controlled requirements.
  • High level IT familiarity to appropriately manage and maintain enterprise security systems and their supporting infrastructure.

Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $110,000.00 - $184,000.00 annually. 

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
