Physical Security Department

The North America Physical Security Department is focused on delivering a best-in-class security program aligned with Vantage’s vision of becoming the leading industry physical security data center provider. Our mission is to safeguard our data center environments through comprehensive, scalable, and standardized physical security processes that deter threats, promote rapid incident response, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Vantage’s rapid growth.

The department leads all physical security efforts across North America, ensuring that every Vantage data center operates within a consistent, scalable, and standardized security framework. Our teams design and implement physical security programs, systems, and processes that deter threats, strengthen site resiliency, and enable rapid response to incidents. We partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that physical security is embedded into every phase of the asset lifecycle and supports Vantage’s rapid expansion.

Position Overview

This role may be based at any Vantage location within the United States, following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office and 2 days flexible).

The Specialist, Physical Security Assurance and executes operational assurance, control-testing, assessment, and compliance activities supporting the North America Physical Security program. The Specialist evaluates whether physical security controls are appropriately implemented and operating effectively, documents defensible evidence and conclusions, identifies control deficiencies and risk themes, and coordinates corrective actions through validated closure.

Serving as a key connection between physical security standards and site-level execution, the Specialist applies consistent assurance methodologies across the portfolio and supports audit readiness, risk management, quality assurance, performance reporting, and continuous improvement. The role works cross-functionally with Security, Operations, Technology, Construction, and other stakeholders to strengthen control effectiveness, accountability, and program maturity.

Duties

Audit Execution and Control Testing

  • Conduct site audits, assessments, and control testing across physical security environments

  • Execute standardized control test procedures and validation processes aligned with enterprise frameworks

  • Perform physical inspections of security infrastructure, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems

  • Validate system configuration, coverage, and operational performance

Data Collection and Documentation

  • Collect, review, and maintain audit evidence in accordance with established standards and audit requirements

  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready

  • Maintain detailed audit records, workpapers, and supporting artifacts

  • Support development of audit reports and findings documentation

  • Coordinate evidence collection and validation for internal and external audits, customer reviews, and other assurance activities

  • Support document lifecycle activities, including version control, periodic review, approval tracking, publication, retention, and archival

Compliance Management

  • Maintain the corrective-action register and monitor action owners, target dates, aging, status, and closure evidence

  • Review remediation evidence to determine whether corrective actions sufficiently address identified deficiencies

  • Escalate overdue, recurring, or material control deficiencies in accordance with established governance requirements

  • Support root-cause analysis for recurring findings and systemic control weaknesses

  • Support the maintenance of physical security risk registers and facilitate the linkage of assessment findings, control deficiencies, and corrective actions to applicable risks

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of physical security programs, processes, and audit deliverables to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with established standards and governance requirements

  • Analyze audit, assessment, and compliance data to identify trends, recurring control deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement across the physical security program

  • Support the development and maintenance of quality metrics, performance indicators, and assurance reporting to measure program effectiveness and drive operational excellence

  • Maintain dashboards and recurring reports covering assessment completion, control-test results, findings by severity, remediation aging, overdue actions, repeat findings, evidence quality, and control effectiveness

Operational Assurance Support

  • Perform periodic assurance checks and control reviews beyond formal audits

  • Monitor and evaluate control performance and relevant system-health indicators

  • Support the development and implementation of continuous-assurance processes and capabilities

  • Manage assigned assessments and assurance deliverables with limited day-to-day supervision

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Partner with site security teams, regional operations, and technical teams to clarify audit findings, validate corrective actions, and ensure alignment with security standards

  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to stakeholders on required remediation actions

  • Support cross-functional collaboration to improve control implementation and operational consistency

Job Requirements

Required

  • Three or more years of relevant experience in physical security, quality assurance, audit, compliance, risk management, or a related control-based environment. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered

  • Working knowledge of access control systems, video management systems, intrusion detection and alarm systems

  • Ability to apply audit, assurance, quality-control, or control-testing methodologies and translate requirements into repeatable test procedures

  • Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to track compliance, audit findings, corrective actions, and key performance indicators

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to collect, validate, and document evidence

  • Ability to analyze and interpret control effectiveness and compliance requirements

  • Experience documenting findings, managing corrective actions, reviewing remediation evidence, and monitoring issues through closure

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment

  • Travel is expected up to 25%

Preferred

  • Experience in data center, critical infrastructure, or enterprise environments

  • Familiarity with governance frameworks, audit processes, or compliance programs

  • Experience supporting SOC audits, customer audits, ISO-aligned management systems, or enterprise assurance programs

  • Experience conducting physical security risk assessments, site-security reviews, or security vulnerability assessments

  • Familiarity with corrective-action management, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement methodologies

  • Experience aligning programs to ISO 27001, ISO 9001, or comparable standards

Additional Details  

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - 115,000 (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
