Start the Best Work of Your Career at Boom

At Boom, we’re building the world’s fastest airliner and rewriting what’s possible... That kind of ambition demands a People Team that moves with the same precision, speed, and care as our engineers. We’re not just scaling a company—we’re scaling a culture that inspires the most talented people on the planet to do their life’s best work.

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a high-impact People Generalist to power the experience of the extraordinary individuals behind this mission. You won’t just support the employee lifecycle—you’ll help build the People systems and culture that keep our teams moving fast and flying high. From guiding new hires through their first days to supporting employee engagement, development, and day-to-day people needs, you’ll be a trusted partner across our People programs.

This role is designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly without dropping details and understands how great people support empowers teams to thrive and stay aligned as they grow.

Role Overview

As a key member of our People Team, you’ll work cross-functionally with employees, managers, and leadership to create exceptional, high-touch experiences across the entire employee lifecycle. You’ll serve as a go-to resource for HR operations, a proactive problem-solver, and a cultural ambassador—ensuring every interaction is seamless, thoughtful, and aligned with our values.

This is a unique opportunity to partner with teams at all levels, flexing between hands-on HR support and strategic initiatives in areas like onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee engagement. In this role, you will:

  • Be the first line of support for employees and managers—translating employment requirements into practical answers and helping teams navigate day-to-day people topics with clarity and care.
  • Deliver core HR programs (onboarding, performance, engagement and development) with precision and empathy—ensuring every touchpoint reinforces our culture and momentum.
  • Partner with People team leads on org design, compensation reviews, and talent planning—adapting programs to meet the needs of a growing, evolving organization.
  • Operationalize strategic HR goals by breaking them into processes that effectively work—balancing speed, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Use data and insights to spot trends in engagement, retention, and performance—and help shape proactive, high-impact solutions.
  • Act as an HR trusted guide—ensuring best practices are followed, managers are supported, and Boom remains in lockstep with employment laws and internal standards.
  • Roll up your sleeves during change—supporting communication, adoption, and alignment as we roll out new initiatives, structures, and processes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and adapts quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Builds trust and credibility across all levels with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has a solid grasp of fundamental HR knowledge, practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Balances detail orientation with a bias for action and practical problem-solving.
  • Brings a growth mindset and is eager to expand into more strategic business partnership.
  • Cares deeply about employee experience and is motivated to create a workplace where people thrive.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Demonstrated experience supporting high-performing teams through organizational change or scaling phases.
  • Proven ability to turn people data into actionable insights that drive engagement or retention.
  • Experience supporting engineering, technical, or hard-tech organizations.
  • Experience with Rippling, Greenhouse, and Google Suite.
  • Skilled in balancing employee advocacy with business needs to drive thoughtful, people-first outcomes.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a track record of identifying and implementing process improvements.

If you’re ready to help build the team that will make supersonic flight a reality, this is your chance to make your mark.
