The Outside Sales & Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business, strengthening referral relationships, increasing quote conversion, and helping the company grow profitable revenue.
This is a full-time, field-based sales role focused on building relationships with commercial accounts, fleet operators, insurance agents, dealerships, body shops, rental companies, municipalities, and other organizations that own, manage, insure, or service vehicles.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, accountable, and comfortable turning daily sales activity into measurable results. Success in this role will be measured by qualified opportunities, follow-up discipline, booked jobs, revenue growth, gross profit contribution, and the ability to help create more predictable, profitable, and collectible work.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities across commercial, fleet, insurance-agent, dealership, body shop, rental, municipal, and local business channels.
- Build a prioritized target list of companies and referral sources that can generate recurring or repeat auto glass work.
- Conduct regular outside sales visits, calls, emails, and follow-up activity to build pipeline and create new opportunities.
- Develop relationships with decision-makers, influencers, office staff, service managers, insurance agents, fleet managers, and business owners.
- Promote the value proposition around quality installation, local accountability, technical expertise, customer service, and convenience.
- Support growth in commercial and fleet accounts by identifying companies that own, lease, insure, or manage multiple vehicles.
- Help develop and promote referral programs, fleet inspection opportunities, and other revenue-generating initiatives. Referral Source & Relationship Management
- Strengthen relationships with existing insurance agents, dealerships, body shops, and referral partners.
- Identify which agents, accounts, and referral sources are actually producing leads, booked jobs, and revenue.
- Follow up consistently with referral sources to maintain visibility, reinforce trust, and increase repeat business.
- Track referral activity and communicate customer or account feedback to leadership.
- Support customer retention by ensuring follow-up after completed work where appropriate. Sales Process, Follow-Up & Conversion
- Follow up on open quotes, lost quotes, referral opportunities, and direct customer inquiries.
- Track why opportunities are won or lost and identify ways to improve conversion.
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure customer expectations, scheduling needs, and job details are communicated clearly.
- Ensure sales activity turns into measurable outcomes, including booked jobs, revenue, gross profit, and repeat opportunities.
- Maintain disciplined daily and weekly sales activity, including calls, emails, in-person visits, follow-ups, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new business.
- Strong communication, follow-up, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based sales role.
- Organized and able to manage multiple prospects, accounts, and follow-up commitments.
- Comfortable making calls, sending emails, conducting in-person visits, and asking for business.
- Ability to track activity and report results consistently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel locally throughout the Denver foothills markets. Preferred
- Experience in outside sales, business development, account management, or relationship-based selling.
- Experience selling to commercial accounts, fleet operators, insurance agents, dealerships, body shops, contractors, municipalities, or local businesses.
- Familiarity with auto glass, automotive services, insurance claims, commercial services, or field-service businesses.
- Experience using CRM systems, sales trackers, or pipeline management tools.
- Marketing, branding, social media, or collateral-support experience.
- Ability to understand basic margin, revenue, and customer profitability concepts.
