Location: Rocky Mountain Region | Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 + Uncapped Commissions
Own a territory. Build long-term relationships. Deliver technical solutions backed by a team that knows buildings, controls, and the Rocky Mountain market.

About Setpoint Systems

Setpoint Systems Corporation is an award-winning building automation and systems integration firm serving the Rocky Mountain Region since 1983. We have designed, installed, and serviced more than 4,000 integrated building control systems for over 1,600 commercial, industrial, and institutional clients.

Our customers rely on us for practical control solutions, responsive service, and long-term partnership. Our sales team is backed by experienced engineering, operations, and field teams that help turn opportunities into successful projects.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Outside Sales Account Manager who can grow strategic relationships, uncover building automation opportunities, and guide customers toward solutions that improve comfort, reliability, energy performance, and operational visibility.

This is a field-facing, relationship-driven sales role for someone who enjoys technical conversations, proactive account ownership, and the ability to build a book of business with unlimited commission upside.

What You Will Do

· Own and grow relationships with contractors, consulting engineers, facility teams, owners, and end users.

· Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities for building automation and controls integration work.

· Lead consultative sales conversations by understanding customer goals, site conditions, budgets, schedules, and decision drivers.

· Partner with estimating, engineering, operations, and field teams to develop practical scopes and professional proposals.

· Maintain a clean pipeline, accurate forecasts, and consistent follow-up through the sales process.

· Represent Setpoint Systems in customer meetings, site walks, contractor coordination meetings, and industry events.

What Makes You Successful

· You build trust quickly and follow through on commitments.

· You can translate technical requirements into customer value without overcomplicating the conversation.

· You are organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities at different stages.

· You have the discipline to prospect, the patience to develop long-cycle relationships, and the urgency to move qualified work forward.

· You enjoy working with internal experts and can coordinate across sales, engineering, operations, and service teams.

What We Are Looking For

· B2B outside sales experience, ideally in building automation, HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, construction, facility services, energy services, or another technical sales environment.

· Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.

· A practical understanding of sales process, pipeline management, and customer relationship management.

· Technical curiosity and the willingness to learn Building Automation Systems and integrated building technologies.

· Ability to travel within the assigned territory for customer meetings, site walks, and industry events.

· Bachelor's degree is helpful, but relevant experience and a strong track record matter more.

Why Join Setpoint Systems?

· $75K-$85K salary + uncapped commissions

· Established regional brand with more than four decades of building automation experience.

· Base compensation plus uncapped commission and meaningful upside for strong performance.

· Technical support from experienced engineers, estimators, project managers, service teams, and field personnel.

· Ongoing training in building automation, controls solutions, and Setpoint processes/procedures.

· Opportunity to build long-term customer relationships in a market where reliable controls expertise matters.

· Team-oriented culture focused on practical solutions, customer satisfaction, and accountable execution.

Apply

Apply with your resume. A cover letter is optional; a short note about your experience selling technical solutions or working with commercial buildings, contractors, facility teams, or engineers is welcome.

Setpoint Systems Corporation is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants based on experience, capability, and alignment with the requirements of the role.
