Motorola Solutions Connectivity NG9-1-1 Routing Services is a portfolio of products and services that deliver the critical elements needed to enable and operate a Next Generation 9-1-1 Core Services (NGCS) solution. The call and multimedia routing subsystem technology is known as VESTA® NXT Router. VESTA® NXT Router is responsible for receiving incoming emergency calls, voice, SMS, and multimedia, in a NENA i3 SIP format from the originating service provider (OSP). The VESTA® NXT Router Service is specifically designed and engineered to provide a scalable solution that accommodates both legacy and Next Generation call routing.
Job Description

The NGCS Project Management team is responsible for the customer-specific design elements, solution configuration, integration planning, delivery, and performance testing of sold services.  This team is measured upon their ability to achieve the design requirements within budget, on time, and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contractual commitment made with the customer.  The NGCS team is comprised of Network Consultants, Field Engineering, and Project Management teams focused on the delivery of the VESTA® NG9-1-1 Routing Services.  

The NGCS Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of Motorola Solutions Connectivity NGCS products and services that deliver the critical elements needed to enable and operate a Next Generation 9-1-1 Core Services (NGCS) solution.  They will act and be recognized as the leader / focal point for all aspects of assigned project(s). Responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction. 

Must be able to utilize PM tools (schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc) to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions for any issues related to assigned project(s). The PM is responsible for allocating all necessary resources to meet project objectives, and corporate financial, and customer satisfaction goals. The project manager is responsible for direct communication with the customer’s organization and relevant senior stakeholders internally by conducting project reviews throughout the life of the project. In addition, the project manager is responsible for the overall pre-tax profit of all projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads large programs or portions of very complex programs. Directs and coordinates the work activities of the project team.

  • Demonstrates a firm understanding of all nine areas of PMBOK project management. Experienced in running project phases. Is able to oversee the development of the complete project plan. Is able to establish, track, and audit project budgets, analyze variances, and develop action plans as required.

  • Represents the organization on projects and may perform in a project leadership role.

  • A project manager is accountable for accomplishing the stated project objectives within the stipulated time period and budget. Ensures that the three constraints (quality, cost, and time) that face every project are properly managed.

  • Involved in the recruitment and management of project staff including project reporting, administration, and communication.

Qualifications:

  • Next Generation 9-1-1 Industry Awareness (NENA, APCO, etc.).  Can identify industry and market trends 

  • Familiarity with State and Local Government Public Safety technologies & operations.  Experience at a 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point is high valued.

  • Project Management experience at a Public Safety technology supplier or in a direct Government Public Safety role is highly valued.

  • 5+ years Project Management, Customer Service experience in telecommunications with an emphasis on Public Safety is desired

  • Advanced Project Management skills in Planning, Executing and Controlling.  Can demonstrate industry awareness and follow resource, communication and quality management principles while managing scope, schedule, budget and quality to stated requirements.

  • Personally productive; achieves high levels of productivity through time & resource management

  • Focus on Client Service; anticipates and responds to internal and external demands

  • Advanced Business Acumen - Financial, Contract, Profit & Loss, and Subcontract management required

  • Computer skills (I.e. MS Office suite, Google applications, Smartsheets, etc..)  Must be comfortable using hosted applications, project scheduling software, and collaboration tools.

  • Awareness of Motorola Solutions Connectivity Products and Services

  • Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives. 

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time

  • This is a Remote position with occasional visits to the Office to work onsite 2 times per month if needed.

Target Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

  • High School diploma, Associates, or Bachelor's Degree, plus 5 years of Project Management, or Customer Service experience in Telecommunications, and Public Safety.

  • PMP certification is required for this position.  

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
