GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB  

As an integral member of the Eagle Life distribution team, the National Account Manager is responsible for the relationship management and business development of national and regional firms to promote our products. This includes helping to drive sales results, market share growth, and deeper penetration with the firms through conferences, marketing campaigns, and expanding our brand and product offerings.  The National Account Manager collaborates with other Eagle Life team members on initiative development and execution from wholesaling, operation, training, marketing, compliance, and legal. #LI-SD1

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Helps align business planning of Eagle Life to the goals of those assigned firms.
  • Anticipates and resolves complex problems with the help of AEL and Eagle Life key stakeholders.
  • Collects and analyzes data to learn more about customer behavior. Identifies industry trends and applies information to increase opportunities in assigned accounts.
  • May be required to conduct business meetings with senior leadership from assigned accounts autonomously, without Eagle Life Management participation.
  • Manages and cultivates relationships with centers of influence, gatekeepers, and program managers at assigned bank and broker dealer firms.
  • Strives to increase shelf space, new product offerings, and increased partnership arrangements.
  • Uncovers opportunities for our sales force to better position Eagle Life products and marketing efforts.
  • Develops, aligns, and executes all marketing, sales and support services for assigned accounts to achieve growth objectives.
  • Understands the assigned accounts’ culture, systems, requirements and develops value add programs to increase market share.
  • Manages potential Eagle Life bank/broker dealer channel conflict issues with AEL bank/broker dealer and independent channels by fostering excellent internal and external communication.
  • Keeps management informed by preparing weekly reports, making presentations, interpreting information, and making recommendations.
  • Coordinates the launch of new partners and new products in existing partners as primary relationship manager between Eagle Life and the partner.
  • Attends industry meetings and roundtable events when necessary.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

None. 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

 Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in business administration, marketing or related field; plus five (5) years of related account management experience in annuities; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Existing contacts with key decision makers at current or prospective Eagle Life partners preferred. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS: 

Series 6, 7, 63 along with Life and Health preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Thorough understanding of fixed indexed and other annuities.
  • Strong knowledge of financial services industry and products.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Dynamic personality with a drive to reach and manage key decision makers.
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present information to financial institution prospects, management, public groups and other key stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully handle pressure, multi-task, adapt to change and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willing and able to put in more hours than a typical workday when necessary.
  • Ability to use sound and accurate judgment in identification and resolution of problems.
  • Extensive overnight travel required.
