Job Description:
Position: Mirth Connect Developer
Location: Newtown Square, PA 19073
Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Summary
We are seeking a Mirth Connect Developer with strong experience in healthcare interface development to design, build, and maintain integration solutions connecting internal systems, providers, and payers. The role emphasizes HL7, X12, and FHIR data exchange, message transformation, and working with healthcare workflows and claims-related transactions. This role supports secure, standards-based interoperability and compliance with applicable privacy/regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain healthcare integration interfaces using Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect).
- Build and optimize message mappings and transformations for HL7 v2, X12, and FHIR exchanges.
- Implement secure data handling practices to meet privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA where applicable).
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL logic required for integrations.
- Write and maintain scripts (JavaScript, Java, or other scripting as required) for message routing, transformation, and validation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Collaborate with clinical, engineering, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure integrations meet functional and performance needs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and test plans.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment activities, including participation in integration and user acceptance testing.
- Follow change control, release management, and incident management processes.
