Subfamily Description
Direct Production (DPO) associates with the issuing of material to the production line, running the production line, conducting testing and quality controls, packaging of products, staging products, and releasing of products to the delivery. Contains disposal of waste, the maintenance of machinery and equipment, and the production site as such.
 

Responsibilities

· Mechanical skills required to assemble commercial instruments into test cabinets and make mechanical modifications to the cabinet, shelving, and assemblies as necessary

· Mechanical skills required to assemble test fixtures which can include electro-mechanical assemblies, pneumatic, and heating/cooling assemblies. Ability to make minor adjustments to ensure proper performance

· Strong Electronic Fundamentals

· Electrical wiring skills required to wire test cabinets, test fixtures, and various sub-assemblies and cables that compose the test set. Requires ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical schematics and drawings

· Strong soldering background, wire routing/mech connections, and PCB soldering and repair skills

· Troubleshooting of PCB’s and various electrical sub-assemblies

· Optical fusion splicing, fiber routing, and optical path troubleshooting

· Attention to details including mark-up of electrical/optical/mechanical drawings and regular communication with team and engineering

· Ability to work on a ladder for maintenance and service installations. Some heavy lifting of ~ 50lbs and physical exertion in moving and positioning test racks, age racks, UPS systems, and various fixtures

Qualifications

· AS in Electronics/Electronic Technology or equivalent experience required

· Electrical wiring and PCB soldering/repair experience required

· Electrical and Optical troubleshooting experience required

· Basic machine fabrication processes (cutting, drilling, bending, etc.) required

· Optical fusion splicing experience required

· Good written and verbal communication skills on a timely basis, including Excel spreadsheet experience

· Ability to work in a flexible dynamic team environment is essential

· Ability to locate needed parts and supplies online – familiar with common electronic/mechanical/optics vendors

· Ability to focus on target dates and understand team priorities

· Adherence to facility ESD, safety, and security practices
