Salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  

Level II:

Estimated annual base pay: $77,000 (Minimum) - $100,000 (Midpoint) - $123,000 (Maximum)

Senior:

Estimated annual base pay: $93,000 (Minimum) - $121,000 (Midpoint) - $149,000 (Maximum)

Level II:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works assigned tasks to meet schedule and may coordinate details with other departments.

  • Creates and develops solid models and layouts based on design specifications, system requirements, and engineering analysis with guidance as needed.

  • Develops detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts and models.

  • Recognizes problems that are beyond current capabilities and learns from experts in the area.

  • May implement process improvements on a project level.

  • Performs work using conventional engineering practices.

  • Supports prototype builds and laboratory testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems with some supervision.

  • Writes and performs component tests with some supervision.

Key Skills:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including internal presentations and basic technical writing such as procedures and reports.

  • Competent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a project team environment and communicate with customers.

  • May direct or lead the work of technicians, detailers, and designers.

  • Basic ability to understand and interpret industry and Woodward technical standards, including quality system standards and PLC processes.

  • Basic use and understanding of FEA tools and DFSS tools and methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of engineering quality systems, including PLC, engineering change, and configuration management.

  • Basic understanding of component function and testing.

  • Learning manufacturing processes, drawings, GD&T, shop standards, and procedures, and how they impact designs.

  • Effective time management skills.

  • Strong CAD-based 2D and 3D application skills, preferably Creo.

  • Basic technical writing skills for EARS, procedures, reports, and related documents.

Other Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Bachelors BS degree+ 1 Year of experience or MS

  • International - Bachelors BS/University degree equivalent by Country AND 1 year of experience or Masters

Senior:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates detailed phases of a project.

  • Creates and owns solid models and layouts based on design specifications, system requirements, and engineering analysis.

  • Develops detailed drawings of parts and assemblies, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical interfaces.

  • Participates in and promotes process improvements within assigned areas.

  • Performs work involving conventional engineering practices and a variety of complex features, such as conflicting design requirements, non-standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements.

  • Provides direct support of sales and development by sharing information in the form of proposals and leading design reviews.

  • Supports prototype builds and laboratory testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Independently writes and performs component tests.

Key Skills:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to internal teams, customers, and management.

  • Strong technical writing skills for EARS, procedures, reports, and technical documentation.

  • Proficient in GD&T.

  • Strong proficiency in CAD-based 2D and 3D applications, preferably Creo.

  • Competent complex problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a project team environment and communicate with customers.

  • May direct or lead work of technicians, detailers, and designers.

  • Working knowledge of standards and ability to apply complex groupings of standards into designs.

  • Competent use and understanding of FEA tools and basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies.

  • Competent knowledge of engineering quality systems, including PLC, engineering change, and configuration management.

  • Solid ability to compute steady-state results.

  • Complete understanding of component function and testing requirements.

  • Understands manufacturing processes, drawings, GD&T, shop standards, and procedures and how they impact designs.

  • Assists with development of department and organization procedures.

  • May guide Level I and II engineers.

Other Qualifications:

  • 4 Year Bachelors BS degree AND 4+ years equivalent experience

  • International - Bachelors BS/University degree equivalent by Country AND 4+ years equivalent experience
