Job Responsibilities:
Scope of Position• Owns and drives the plant's master production schedule to ensure optimal capacity utilization, on-time delivery, and alignment across production, materials, and customer demand. Leads and coordinates the planning team while proactively identifying risks, resolving constraints, and aligning cross-functional priorities.
Minimum Requirements• Post-secondary education or equivalent in Supply Chain, Production Planning, Materials Management, or related field.• 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.• Previous experience leading or coordinating planners or scheduling activities preferred.• Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).• Deep understanding of MRP, capacity planning, inventory control, and material flow.• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting/analysis tools.
Job Specific Responsibilities• Develop, maintain, and own the master production schedule based on customer demand, capacity, and material availability.• Lead and provide direction to production planners/schedulers, ensuring alignment to plant priorities and consistent planning practices.• Balance demand and capacity constraints, proactively identifying risks and driving mitigation plans.• Act as the primary escalation point for scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and production disruptions.• Collaborate cross-functionally with production, purchasing, engineering, quality, and program management to align schedules and priorities.• Review customer releases and forecasts to establish optimized build plans.• Drive adherence to schedule attainment, inventory targets, and on-time delivery performance.• Monitor and manage inventory levels, WIP, and line-side stock to support uninterrupted production.• Oversee supplier release processes and support expediting activities as required.• Lead planning-related continuous improvement initiatives (forecast accuracy, schedule stability, inventory reduction, etc.).• Support new program launches by developing and managing ramp-up and capacity plans.• Ensure accuracy of planning parameters in ERP systems (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, etc.).• Participate in S&OP / production review meetings and provide data-driven insights.• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
