We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Market Access Communications Content and Copy Specialist to join our growing creative agency focused on pharmaceutical and life sciences clients. This role is both strategic and hands-on, providing content, copy, material development, and marketing strategy support for assigned agency accounts, while working closely with cross-functional internal teams including strategic consulting, the agency art and design team, and project management.
Your role is to develop compelling, accurate, and strategically aligned content and marketing communications that support market access, payer engagement, and healthcare professional (HCP) communications. This role blends a deep understanding of the market access landscape with strong copywriting, messaging, and content strategy expertise to deliver compliant materials that drive understanding and adoption of therapies across stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
Content Development
  • Research, write, and edit clear, accurate, and persuasive content for market access audiences, including payers, formulary decision-makers, HCPs, and policy influencers
  • Translate complex clinical, health economics, and policy information into concise, engaging messages tailored to specific audiences
  • Write, edit, and refine market access materials — including, but not limited to, payer value propositions, reimbursement, billing, medical exceptions, and coverage guides, objection handlers, formulary flashcards, HEOR and RWE data summaries, patient access brochures and educational materials, prior authorization forms and instructions, pull-through toolkits, payer and HCP email campaigns, interactive PDFs, infographics, leave-behinds, sales aid copy, payer- and HCP-focused microsite content, and training slide decks for account teams
Strategic Messaging & Positioning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (market access consulting, client, creative) to refine brand and product messaging in line with strategic goals
  • Ensure content aligns with brand tone, compliance guidelines, and legal/regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, OPDP, PhRMA Code)
Project Management & Collaboration
  • Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to gather insights, understand objectives, and recommend content strategies
  • Work closely with designers and production teams to ensure copy and visuals integrate seamlessly for maximum impact
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, data integrity, and adherence to all client, industry, and regulatory standards
  • Support the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process, incorporating feedback while maintaining clarity and persuasiveness

Required Experience and Skills
  •  5+ years’ experience in healthcare communications, strong preference for market access, payer marketing, or HEOR (health economics and outcomes research) communications
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of healthcare or pharmaceutical work
  • Ability to interpret clinical data and translate it for non-clinical audiences
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. payer landscape, reimbursement pathways, formulary decision-making, and value messaging
  • Experience working with medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) teams, familiarity with MLR processes, and competency within the Veeva platform
  • Experience working with creative teams to develop integrated campaigns and materials
  • Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., fair balance, promotional and non-promotional material requirements, ISI, referencing standards)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, life sciences, marketing, journalism, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Consultancy and/or agency experience, with the ability to lead client discussions and provide strategic recommendations
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, startup, small agency, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable

Compensation: Base salary range: $90,000 - $140,000 depending on experience. Generous
incentive compensation structure.
Benefits Package:
  • 401k - generous employer match with immediate vesting and financial planning resources
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage options effective day 1 of employment
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)
  • Company paid insurances including Short- and Long-Term Disability and Life insurance as well as additional voluntary options
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents
  • Health & Wellness Benefit (e.g., gym memberships; $1000 reimbursement annually)
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Generous paid time off including vacation, sick days, floating and company holidays
