This role will oversee and contribute to the development team, working closely with the senior leadership team of NumberCruncher. In addition to managing engineers, this role requires active involvement in software development, ensuring both strategic oversight and hands-on support. You will lead technical design, manage the delivery of software projects, and align engineering efforts with business goals. A key focus will be implementing structured sprint cadences, refining team workflows, and establishing standard operating procedures to build a more scalable and efficient engineering organization. You will be responsible for guiding your team through the full software development lifecycle, driving high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to software development efforts, writing and reviewing code to support critical projects and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Lead and mentor a development team delivering high quality, scalable software platforms.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from planning and design to deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with NumberCruncher leadership team to understand priorities and business objectives, translating them into technical deliverables.
- Define and implement structured sprint cadences and other agile practices to improve velocity, predictability, and quality.
- Promote best practices in coding standards, testing, code reviews, and DevOps to ensure maintainability and scalability.
- Review technical designs and code, avoiding unnecessary complexity and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
- Maintain a flexible and adaptable development framework that can scale up to meet new market opportunities.
- Ensure stability and performance of software systems, proactively addressing any issues to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Lead by example as a primary contributor
Skills & Competencies:
- Agile Leadership & Delivery: Ability to champion Agile principles, guide engineering teams through the full development lifecycle, and ensure predictable, high-quality software delivery. SQL Server, C#, Angular, .NET, Experience and Leadership

Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with SDLC tooling (e.g. Jira)
- Experience with CI/CD methodology and delivery
- Prior experience with inventory software solutions is a plus
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience
- At least 6 years of experience in developing Web, SaaS, or Mobile products
- Minimum 3+ years of experience directly leading or managing an engineering team
- Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and/or complex systems
- Deep understanding of .NET/C# programming using Microsoft Visual Studio
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of SQL using SQL Management Studio
- Proven ability to decompose complex problems into discrete software deliverables
- Coachable with a high integrity ownership mind-set
- Self-starter with consistent track record of delivering high quality software in a pragmatic fashion
