The Manager, People Operations Business Partners serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders and team members, helping drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and People Operations initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with leaders to support talent management, employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development efforts. The Manager is a leader and partner within the organization while helping build a world-class People Operations function founded on operational excellence, compliance, scalable processes, and exceptional employee experiences. This role is responsible for fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance while developing and growing a strong People Operations team capable of supporting the organization's continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide mentorship and ongoing development opportunities to business partnering team through regular coaching, feedback, and development planning.
- Partner with leadership to build and continuously improve a People Operations function that delivers exceptional service, operational excellence, and scalable people practices.
- Establish and maintain strong HR foundations through consistent policy administration, regulatory compliance, process improvement, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Ensure People Operations programs, policies, and practices are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws while supporting business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance People Operations processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and the employee experience.
- Provide guidance and coaching to business partners on employee relations, performance management, team effectiveness, talent development, and organizational design.
- Support business partners in workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and organizational development activities.
- Help foster a high-performance, values-driven culture by promoting accountability, employee engagement, and leadership effectiveness.
- Utilize People metrics and analytics to identify trends, provide recommendations, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Partner with leaders to identify organizational challenges and develop solutions that enhance team performance and employee experience.
- Support compensation and talent processes, including performance reviews, promotion planning, and market-based compensation recommendations.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on hiring strategies, workforce planning, and headcount management.
- Assist with the implementation and communication of People Operations programs, policies, and initiatives.
- Partner with Legal and People Operations leadership as needed on employee relations matters, policy interpretation, and employment law compliance.
- Lead and support change management initiatives by helping leaders navigate organizational changes and effectively communicate with their teams.
- Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues while ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with company policies.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and represent People Operations on key business initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and team members to understand business needs and proactively address people-related challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of progressive Human Resources or People Operations experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on management and/or mentorship in a HR capacity.
- Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience collaborating across multiple People Operations functions, including talent acquisition, compensation, and learning and development.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align People solutions to organizational goals.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defense, or other high-growth technical organizations.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Experience leveraging HRIS systems, workforce analytics, and People data to drive business decisions.
Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $125,000 - $148,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. What we can’t quantify for you are the exciting challenges, supportive team, and amazing culture we enjoy.
