General Summary

The Manager, Partnerships and Events is a strategic and operational leader, responsible for driving growth through high-impact industry relationships and domestic event strategies. This role serves as the engine behind the music catalog ecosystem, ensuring that both in-house brands (Alfred Music, MakeMusic) and distributed brand partners are strategically marketed and seamlessly integrated into our sales funnel and overall revenue engine. You will lead the development and execution of all convention strategies, managing cross-functional teams to drive lead generation, brand awareness, and partner-driven revenue.

You value team members’ input from all levels and you actively seek ways to support your colleagues. You will sit directly with the Marketing Team, work in close collaboration with the Content and Digital Marketing Team members, and will report to the Senior Director, Marketing. 

Core Functions:

  • Strategic Partnership & Relationship Management: Manage and grow a portfolio of partnerships with music publishers, influential musicians, composers, and education influencers to drive collaborative projects, support the company's strategic goals and expand its market presence.
  • Partner Liaison: Serve as the supporting point of contact for external partners, leading monthly and quarterly syncs to align on marketing initiatives, product launches, and event strategies. As the primary point of contact, you will be the cross-functional connector, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with teams such as market, sales and product. Additionally, serve as facilitator for partner content development in MakeMusic Cloud and Alfred Music. This involves managing the approval process for concept, development assets, content submission, correction routing and partner sign-off for publication. This includes notation, validation of copyright and credits, and art assets where necessary.
  • Conflict Resolution: Act as the lead to resolve data discrepancies, inventory issues, and IP-related inquiries stemming from Sales or Customer Service.
  • Convention Management: Develop and execute domestic convention strategies, including booth and staff logistics, on-site promotional strategies, and travel logistics.
  • Exhibition Strategy: Coordinate booth orders and supply logistics for distributed brands when they exhibit at industry shows, ensuring the most relevant products are featured.
  • ROI Reporting: Execute convention KPI reporting and manage the overall events budget in conjunction with senior leadership.
  • Co-Marketing Campaigns: Plan and execute co-branded marketing efforts with strategic partners, such as webinars, social media spotlights, and targeted email campaigns to drive customer acquisition.
  • Operational Workflows: Streamline partnership activities, including timelines, content delivery, and promotional calendars across publishing and software divisions.
  • Sales Enablement: Develop partner-ready resources (pitch decks, training materials) and collaborate with sales teams to optimize product placement and promotional campaigns.
  • Catalog Integrity: Review and edit incoming partner data (using tools like FileMaker) to ensure accurate representation on websites and external feeds.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of events professionals focused on events execution and logistics, as well as partner marketing resources and employees. Additionally oversee company-wide travel platforms like Concur.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Partner Satisfaction: Retention and health of strategic and distributed brand relationships.
  • Lead Generation & Partner Optimization: Volume of leads generated through partner-led or co-branded event campaigns, always identifying additional opportunities for partnership optimization and expansion..
  • Event ROI: Successful execution of conventions against defined brand awareness and sales goals.

Data Accuracy: Timely and error-free release of partner data to digital platforms and dealer feeds.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in B2B/B2C marketing, specifically in Partner Marketing, Event Management, or Distribution relations.
  • 3+ years experience managing a team, contractors or equivalent experience. 
  • Deep familiarity with the music publishing landscape, music education, and/or sheet music retail.
  • Proven experience in people management and a track record of completing complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints. 
  • Ability to communicate professionally at a high level with external executives and internal stakeholders.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive Applications and managing complex data within relational databases like FileMaker Pro.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of music or a Music Business degree.
  • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, Concur, Sigma and AS400 preferred.
  • Knowledge of copyright or intellectual property related to music publications.

Compensation

We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual salary range for this role in Colorado is $78,518- $130,864. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment that is well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned with adequate ventilation and a noise level that is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
