Your Opportunity as a Manager, Operations Excellence
Operational Excellence is the company’s continuous improvement methodology. It is a comprehensive set of tools, capabilities, and leadership skills designed to achieve business breakthrough results through the 100% engagement of employees. Operations leaders view mastery in this methodology as a key skill required for progression to site leadership roles (operations managers, plant manager, Directors, VP’s). Operations experience is required to effectively coach and lead varying levels of plant and corporate teams on the tools, standards, and system integration of Operational Excellence.

Work Arrangements: 100% Remote - expected to travel up to 50%

In this role you will:

Lead tactics to support the Operational Excellence Strategy and Business Results

  • Lead improvements and projects on the Operations Excellence Masterplan
  • Develop daily management systems including input and integration across the plants
  • Leverage tools across the pillars to improve and sustain results
  • Lead overall Operational Excellence systems and result improvements
  • Lead and support corporate wide training and development programs

Deliver the Annual Transformation Savings as part of the Operations Workstream

  • Coach teams and provide expertise on development and execution of transformation projects with heightened attention to detail and rigor
  • Leverage the Wave system to analyze savings and projects status to deliver the targeted results
  • Review and approve projects throughout the transformation process coaching the initiative owners as necessary
  • Create training, tools, and standards to enable initiative owners and site savings leaders

Promote the continued implementation and integration of Operational Excellence throughout the Company

  • Establish and communicate the vision for Operations Excellence at corporate and plant facilities
  • Support company pillar teams and activities, attending corporate pillar meetings as necessary
  • Create & coach on tools, systems, and standards to improve and sustain results
  • Work closely with other functional and corporate teams for input and support
  • Continually help to develop and refine the vision and capabilities of Operations Excellence

Coach Plants and Corporate Teams on Operational Excellence Tools, Systems, and Training

  • Drive standardization across plants reenforcing established pillar tools and standards
  • Conduct audits and assessments to reinforce Operational Excellence phase progression
  • Provide plant support for problem solving, improvement projects, and priority work as necessary
  • Coach teams on sustaining improvements and system integration into daily work
  • Coach on Operations Excellence systems through Learn, Do, and Teach
  • Leverage reapplication and best practices

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree.  Preferably in engineering, packaging, or operations management
  • 6 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment using continuous improvement tools
  • Mastery in continuous improvement tools
  • Proven success in implementing and sustaining improvements
  • Experience leading teams

Preferred skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Operations savings project management utilizing the Wave System
  • Led a continuous improvement step change across an organization
  • Ability to leverage tools, systems, and standards to improve and sustain results
  • Expertise in Operations Excellence pillar management
  • Experience developing and leading company-wide training program
  • Ability to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization
  • Willing to relocate for next assignment
