Summary

Build What’s Next at SENS! SENS is growing, and we’re looking for a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering who wants to do more than maintain the status quo.

This is an opportunity to lead and shape a critical engineering function during an exciting period of growth and transformation. You’ll lead a team of manufacturing engineering professionals while partnering closely with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other teams to improve how we build today—and help design how we’ll manufacture tomorrow.

We’re looking for a leader who is equally comfortable on the production floor solving problems with the team and stepping back to think strategically about scalability, automation, processes, technology, and talent. You’ll have the opportunity to influence manufacturing strategy, strengthen processes and systems, develop engineering talent, and help build the capabilities SENS needs for its next stage of growth.

If you enjoy building teams, solving complex manufacturing challenges, challenging the status quo, and turning growth into scalable processes, we’d love to talk with you.

Why This Role? This isn’t a maintenance role. SENS is growing rapidly, and Manufacturing Engineering will be central to how we scale.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Build and develop a team while shaping the future of the Manufacturing Engineering function.
  • Make a visible impact on how products move from engineering into production and how manufacturing processes evolve as we grow.
  • Drive modernization through automation, new technologies, process improvement, and smarter manufacturing systems.
  • Work where engineering meets the floor—staying close to the people, products, and processes your decisions affect.
  • Influence how we scale, partnering across the organization to build manufacturing capabilities for the company SENS is becoming.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, develop, and manage the Manufacturing Engineering team, including Manufacturing Engineers, Production Development Engineers, Manufacturing Software Engineers, and Production Support Technicians.
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities, project plans, resource allocation, and performance metrics aligned with company objectives.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day engineering support for manufacturing operations by removing production constraints, minimizing downtime, and resolving technical issues.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of manufacturing processes, work instructions, test procedures, tooling, fixtures, automation systems, and production software solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams on manufacturing capacity planning, line balancing, workflow optimization, and production scalability initiatives to support business growth.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes, test methods, and production controls consistently meet quality, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts related to manufacturing defects and production downtime
  • Manage manufacturing engineering projects, engineering changes, capital equipment investments, and departmental budgets while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Responsible for key KPI’s including production line uptime, productivity project execution, meeting production labor efficiency targets, preventative/predictive maintenance plan attainment, 5S scorecards, hazard closure rate, production cycle time versus takt time, and FPY, among others.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering, production engineering, industrialization, or manufacturing support experience in a technical manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading manufacturing process improvements, production support, and industrialization efforts.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects involving safety, engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain organizations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process validation, industrialization, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Experience with manufacturing test systems, automation equipment, production software, and engineering change management processes.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with manufacturing automation, vision systems, smart tooling, robotics, or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power electronics, industrial electronics, battery charging systems, power conversion equipment, or related industries.
  • Experience with manufacturing software development, automated test systems, and data acquisition platforms.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SyteLine for BOM management, item masters, engineering changes, and manufacturing planning.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience managing capital equipment projects and departmental budgets.
