The Manager - Engineering oversees the Engineering Department, ensuring quality and client satisfaction while managing staff and setting project timelines. Responsible for reporting, staffing levels, productivity standards, and compliance with company policies.
A Manager - Engineering plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities required for effective management of the Engineering Department. Ensure quality and Client satisfaction. Assist the Director, Engineering Services in developing and maintaining fiscal responsibility for the department.

- Responsible for supervising engineering and design including distribution of engineering workload and set timeline goals for project engineering delivery
- Provide system engineering to support workloads
- Provide estimating support as needed to support workloads
- Provide Presales Engineering for Account Executives and Estimating team members
- Develop Engineering Department short- and long-range goals to coincide with Company objectives.
- Provide reports to Director, Engineering and other senior management to include but not limited to staff performance, product performance, project design trends.
- Assist in determining appropriate staffing levels for the Engineering Department.
- Establish and implement productivity standards and communicate job expectations to staff.
- Establish and maintain procedures and standards for quality engineering and design working with the Director, Engineering
- Represent Company in a business-like professional manner in both conduct and appearance, to maximize client satisfaction.
- Work in compliance with the Company’s polices and procedures including safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
- Maintain and protect assigned Company assets.
- Accurate written record keeping, submitted on time and complete
- Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal businesses hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years working in the technical field where electronics or networking theory is used on a daily basis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized business systems
- Technical, Electronic, or IT Associates Degree
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- 1 year of Security industry experience
- Knowledge of NEC Code and low voltage systems
- Ability to function as an effective leader, and inspire, motivate and coach others
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a high-volume atmosphere.
- Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to finish projects on time
- Ability to organize workload for effective implementation
- Ability to clearly and concisely present information in one-on-one and small group situations

- The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
- Limited travel required.
