A Manager - Engineering plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities required for effective management of the Engineering Department. Ensure quality and Client satisfaction. Assist the Director, Engineering Services in developing and maintaining fiscal responsibility for the department.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for supervising engineering and design including distribution of engineering workload and set timeline goals for project engineering delivery
  • Provide system engineering to support workloads
  • Provide estimating support as needed to support workloads
  • Provide Presales Engineering for Account Executives and Estimating team members
  • Develop Engineering Department short- and long-range goals to coincide with Company objectives.
  • Provide reports to Director, Engineering and other senior management to include but not limited to staff performance, product performance, project design trends.
  • Assist in determining appropriate staffing levels for the Engineering Department.
  • Establish and implement productivity standards and communicate job expectations to staff.
  • Establish and maintain procedures and standards for quality engineering and design working with the Director, Engineering
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Represent Company in a business-like professional manner in both conduct and appearance, to maximize client satisfaction.
  • Work in compliance with the Company’s polices and procedures including safety manual with safety of self and others in mind at all times.
  • Maintain and protect assigned Company assets.
  • Accurate written record keeping, submitted on time and complete
  • Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal businesses hours.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, will perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Supervise, develop, evaluate, and discipline Engineering Department personnel in accordance with PTI policies and procedures. 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:    
  • 6+ years working in the technical field where electronics or networking theory is used on a daily basis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized business systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Technical, Electronic, or IT Associates Degree
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • 1 year of Security industry experience
  • Knowledge of NEC Code and low voltage systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e. see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated.  Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Limited travel required.
Pay Rate: $105,000 - $125,000 DOE
