This is a full-time, onsite role based at our headquarters in Denver, CO.
As Manager of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) Manufacturing, you will apply your skills leading a team of engineers and technicians in Manufacturing and integrating cutting edge electrical, instrumentation, and controls hardware for our large laser systems. You will be a player-coach who leads the team and performs hands-on EI&C work and technical mentoring. As we transition towards building at rate, you will take a leading role in standing up a new work center to scale production rates through innovative manufacturing technique development and through automation. You will also lead the team to provide collaborative Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input to the design teams and work to build seamless partnerships across the teams. Responsibilities
- Lead and directly manage a team of engineers and technicians: leading hiring, development, and performance management
- Partner with program leads to deliver EI&C hardware and integrations that meet requirements and aggressive delivery targets
- Lead the stand up of a new EI&C work center by leading input on manufacturing technique development and automation needs
- Lead the EI&C team’s Design for Manufacturing input to engineering design teams
- Partner with Electrical and Pulsed Power Engineering departments to integrate standards throughout the DFM process
- Be the technical authority on integration standards for cabinets, panels, harnessing, and cabling
- Drive standardization across EI&C assemblies
- Implement part standardization, cataloging, and configuration management to reduce complexity and SKU proliferation.
- Lead the team toward modular harness/cabinet architectures to reduce rework during design changes.
Qualifications
- Experience leading teams to deliver in fast paced environments (preferred experience with direct people management.)
- Experience coaching and mentoring EI&C manufacturing and operations teams
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Controls Engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of technical work in industry
- Experience manufacturing and testing EI&C assemblies
- Additional experience with some of the following:
- Industrial LOTO
- 3 phase motors and VFDs
- Electrical ratings such as NEMA, UL, FCC, IEC, and IP.
- NFPA 70E Arc flash
- Stored energy safety including high energy density capacitors and battery back up systems
- Conduit bending
- Power electronics and transformer work
- High current [>1kA] and UHV [10kV to 1MV] Linework and terminations.
- IBEW Journeymen or Master Electrician
- Circuit protection devices and selection
- Medium voltage distribution equipment and panel servicing for 120v1ø to 480v3ø
- Enclosure, panel, bulkhead, and feed through mechanical fabrication skills.
- Telecommunication/Radar servicing experience
- Data acquisition systems
- Equipment Calibration and Characterization
- EMC knowledge and experience.
- High speed data networks
- Industrial communication protocols
- Common PLC architecture including
- Low voltage and control harness fabrication.
- Familiarity with Industrial interconnects
- Familiarity with common FPGA families and embedded systems including
- Equipment racking
- Pneumatic systems and gas handling controls.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum.

Desired
- Experience providing Design for Manufacturing input to designers
- Experience standing up a new work center – setting tooling and automation requirements, defining team headcount and skillsets, defining work processes, etc.
- Experience designing or implementing scalable EI&C manufacturing processes
- Cable/harness production, panel/cabinet build, functional test stations, automated continuity/hi‑pot testing
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and process standardization
- Kanban, 5S, SMED, standard work, line balancing, PFMEA.
