Manager, Developer Relations

The Role:
SailPoint is seeking a Developer Relations Manager to join our Product team. We are looking for someone with passion, enthusiasm, and technical depth who can enable our customers to extend the SailPoint platform to meet their needs. The Developer Relations Manager will be an advocate for our customers and partners, and partner with our Product Management and Engineering teams to build new functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a vision for SailPoint developer success that aligns with business outcomes and SailPoint's long-term platform strategy
- Mentor and grow a team of developer advocates and engineers to deliver industry-leading developer tools
- Partner with Engineering, UX, and Product teams to build and improve the developer experience, SDKs, APIs, documentation, and developer tools based on community feedback
- Drive the creation of technical resources, best practices, and self-service tools that help developers succeed in extending SailPoint's Identity Security Cloud platform
- Identify and remove pain points in the developer journey, making it easier for developers to onboard, build, and succeed with SailPoint
- Stay current, continuously evaluating emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices to establish SailPoint as a leading developer-friendly platform for the identity security industry
- Build Developer Community programs in collaboration with the SailPoint Community team to drive developer engagement, adoption, and success among customers, partners, and aspiring SailPoint developers
- Educate and empower partners to extend and build robust solutions for SailPoint customers
- Liaise with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to showcase SailPoint's developer tools and platform extensibility with prospects and customers
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred, or relevant work experience.
- Strong communication skills
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including previous experience managing the Developer Relations team at a SaaS company
- At least one year of experience of building web applications utilizing web service APIs - Proficient in broad range of programming languages (C++, Ruby, Python, Java, .Net, Node.Js, or Etc.)
- Proven ability to manage complex projects or programs.
- Experience with configuring, developing, and deploying scalable applications within web/application frameworks and servers (Apache/Tomcat, Spring, J2EE, Rails, etc.)
- Knowledge of API architectures
- MVC design patterns (implemented in Struts, Grails, Ruby on Rails, etc.)
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
- Familiarity with a flavor of UNIX (Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, etc.) and Windows.
- Knowledge and understanding of networking concepts.
- Agile/Scrum development methodology.
- Authorization and authentication standards and protocols (SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, etc.)
Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$136,200 - $194,500 - $252,900Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
