The Manager of Commercial Sales will report directly to Director, Commercial Sales and is responsible for growing our client list and expanding client revenue. The Manager sets the team’s strategic direction, manages operations, ensures successful achievement of quota, and develops a high-performing team to achieve impactful results.


This is a remote position within the United States.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in sales, with 2+ years in a leadership role, preferably within the SaaS or cybersecurity industry.
  • Solid business acumen with advanced knowledge in SaaS sales, preferably cybersecurity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the demonstrated ability to support strategic plans and contribute to achieving measurable results.
  • Experience in improving team operations and performance, as well as managing metrics to drive productivity and accountability.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively cross-functionally with peer leaders and teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to influence peers and immediate leaders by presenting data-supported proposals, sharing expertise, and incorporating feedback into decisions.
  • Experience supporting or leading functional initiatives in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams

What you can expect:

  • Team Strategy: Develop and implement the Commercial sales team’s annual objectives and roadmap aligned with the Go-to-market strategy. Incorporate team input, customer insights, external trends, best practices, and stakeholder feedback to guide strategic direction.
  • Functional Initiatives: Lead key initiatives to achieve monthly and quarterly pipeline generation and revenue goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with cross-functional peers to understand their needs, priorities, and efforts, ensuring mutual support in achieving outcomes.
  • Operations:  Define and adjust team roles and responsibilities to enhance collaboration and workflows. Drive the development and/or improvement of team practices, processes, tools, and systems to enhance productivity and accountability.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and maintain the team’s KPIs to ensure alignment with the Commercial team’s objectives. Track performance, provide feedback, and support team members in achieving objectives while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Change Management: Guides team through change by clearly communicating purpose and impact and integrating changes into team expectations and operations.Proactively surface and address concerns, provide support and resources, and ensure successful adoption through ongoing monitoring and reinforcement.
  • Team Leadership: Set clear expectations and priorities for team members, and provide direction, support, and continuous feedback to drive performance and career growth. Identify and develop potential leaders through delegation, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Culture and Org Health:  Creates a team environment that reflects company values, encouraging psychological safety, adaptability, and ownership. Maintain a regular pulse on team health, identifying and driving improvements to enhance the team’s employee experience.
  • Execute account strategy:  Partner with Customer Success to retain and grow active accounts within 1Password.
  • Outbound sales management: Develop a methodical and predictable approach to pipeline creation and progression and expand outbound sales programs to achieve revenue targets
  • Pipeline management: Closely adhere to MEDDPICC in your evaluation of team pipeline and deal management.
  • Hiring and development: Participate in hiring a diverse world class sales team and developing a high-performance culture at both the individual and team level.
  • Forecasting and reporting: Provide weekly reporting on team success, challenges, and strategic initiatives.

USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $119,000 USD and $161,000 USD and is commission-eligible. The role is also eligible for immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.

Our approach to remote work 

We believe in the power of remote work, but we also recognize that some in-person connection with team members and customers is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, occasional travel for in-person engagement will be a part of this role. This may include but is not limited to bi-annual department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events will typically be held in varying locations across EMEA, Canada and/or the USA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
