Role Summary
The Product Engineer at Magna Engineered Glass applies engineering principles and analytical techniques to the design and/or development of product concepts, components, or assemblies per the requirements of the Customer Specifications and Design / Performance Requirements.
Job Purpose:
The Product Engineer will be responsible for process, material and product development targeted toward development and launch of new product programs for Magna Exteriors. They will also support current production programs with Customer Driven VA/VE investigations and local support with Manufacturing Lead CI events, as requested.
Scope:
Location: North America
Program Size / Scale Aprox.: Small (1-4 Prg. at one time)
Program Type / Complexity: Low complexity, VA/VE, etc.
Process: Product Delivery Process (PDP) Gated Launch
Responsibility: Self-Directed
Job Qualifications:
Education (must): Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Engineering Curriculum or Technical Field
Years of Experience (must): 1 - 3 Years
Microsoft Tools (must): Proven Skills in Project, EXCEL, Power Point, Word, etc.
Travel (must): Ability to travel up to 25 %, during peak launch cycle.
Work Environment (must): Be willing and physically capable of working in the manufacturing environment, "on the floor' for extended periods as necessary, supporting the Pre and Postproduction Build and Launch Activities. Must also be willing to do the same at the Customers location if requested. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Desired / Recommended:• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) - ASME Certification (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)• Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) Certification• Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Product Engineering Tools and Methods Certificate• Six Sigma Belt Certificate• Computer Aided Design Knowledge (CAD)
