Job Description

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a Linux system administrator

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Scripting experience (python/bash/perl)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Comfortable with command line

  • Comfortable reading logs (for example: SPLUNK or ELK)

  • use of monitoring tools (ie, Icinga, Nagios)

  • Strong understanding of how to create/follow a method of procedure to troubleshoot/maintain and configure systems

  • comfortable working in a variety of different technology environments: web, TV and mobile; front and back-end design utilizing proprietary and open source platforms, as well as back-end administrative systems

  • A nearly overpowering desire to automate balanced with a necessary amount of pragmatism

  • An open mind as to how automation may be accomplished

  • Video application experience is helpful but not required (i.e. Conditional Access, VOD etc)

Work with the following common technologies

  • VMs (VM Ware)

  • RedHat

  • Java

  • Tomcat

  • Postgres

  • Oracle

  • Perl
