The Linux Admin role requires managing Linux systems, automating processes through scripting, troubleshooting, and utilizing monitoring tools. Strong communication skills and experience with various technologies are essential.
Job Description
Job Requirements:
- 3-5+ years’ experience as a Linux system administrator
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Scripting experience (python/bash/perl)
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable with command line
- Comfortable reading logs (for example: SPLUNK or ELK)
- use of monitoring tools (ie, Icinga, Nagios)
- Strong understanding of how to create/follow a method of procedure to troubleshoot/maintain and configure systems
- comfortable working in a variety of different technology environments: web, TV and mobile; front and back-end design utilizing proprietary and open source platforms, as well as back-end administrative systems
- A nearly overpowering desire to automate balanced with a necessary amount of pragmatism
- An open mind as to how automation may be accomplished
- Video application experience is helpful but not required (i.e. Conditional Access, VOD etc)
