Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The Lead Scrum Master serves as a senior Agile delivery leader responsible for coordinating and optimizing delivery across multiple Agile teams. This role facilitates alignment, transparency, and cross-team collaboration through Scrum of Scrums and scaled Agile practices, while leveraging Azure DevOps to support backlog management, reporting, workflow visibility, and delivery accountability. The role also partners closely with product, engineering, architecture, quality assurance, operations, and leadership stakeholders to manage risks, dependencies, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums ceremonies, PI Planning, cross-team refinement, sprint planning, and release coordination to ensure effective communication, alignment, and execution across multiple Agile teams.

  • Identify, track, and help resolve cross-team dependencies, risks, and impediments that may impact delivery.

  • Partner with Product Management, Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to maintain delivery flow and support program execution.

  • Manage and optimize Azure DevOps Boards, backlogs, dashboards, queries, workflows, reporting, and usage standards to promote transparency, traceability, and accountability.

  • Publish sprint and program artifacts, including sprint commitment reports, burn-down and burn-up charts, velocity by team, and program increment plans.

  • Provide clear, data-driven updates to leadership on progress, risks, delivery health, key metrics, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Support scaled Agile practices and Agile best-practice adoption across teams, coaching teams toward stronger maturity and continuous improvement.

  • Foster collaboration across engineering, product, architecture, quality assurance, operations, and other cross-functional teams.

  • Lead program-level retrospectives, identify process gaps, and drive actionable improvements that improve flow, predictability, transparency, accountability, and continuous learning.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Configuration and Organization setup experience with Azure DevOps Boards, pipelines, dashboards, and reporting.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a Scrum Master role, Agile Delivery Lead, or similar role.

  • 5+ years coordinating multiteam Agile delivery (Scrum of Scrums, ART, or equivalent).

  • Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and scaled methodologies (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus).

  • Proven ability to manage crossteam dependencies and complex delivery environments.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe RTE, SAFe SM, PSM II/III, CSM, or equivalent Agile certifications.

  • Experience in cloud, DevOps, or enterprise‑scale software delivery environments.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and engineering workflows.

  • Ability to analyze delivery metrics and drive data‑informed decisions.

Ability to Travel: Up to 10%


 

The expected hiring range for this position is $113,850.00 - $151,990.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.


Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
