Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) is seeking a knowledgeable Lead or Senior Capacity Systems Engineer to define seeker level testing and interfaces on the Seeker Integrated Product Team (IPT) across its production, capacity expansion, and development programs in Huntsville, AL.
The PAC-3 program is an air-defense, missile system designed to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and advanced aircraft where Boeing is the original engineering manufacturer of the seeker. Boeing's seekers provide active data to the PAC-3 missile which enables it to acquire, intercept and destroy threats using hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 Seeker team is a cross functional, highly skilled, motivated group embracing the beliefs that focused safety, execution, LEAN manufacturing and business practices will secure our future and well-being, driving our product to be the seeker of choice for the PAC-3 program and future generations of weapon systems. The successful candidate will coordinate with program management, engineering leadership, and production and test engineers to integrate engineering test equipment upgrades to the seeker system in our factory chambers, ensuring technical excellence and integration of the PAC-3 Seeker.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Support design of automated test equipment, development of engineering documentation, and hardware fabrication, integration, and validation testing
  • Develop, document, and maintain electronic and electrical system requirements according to customer desires and contract requirements.
  • Create and implement overall Test Equipment Design strategies
  • Review and apply real-time test anomaly troubleshooting and resolution of issues encountered during hardware validation and verification testing
  • Support fielded test equipment hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Research emerging technologies for potential applications to meet projected requirements
  • Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, troubleshooting, and resolutions
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership to promote first time quality and engineering excellence
  • Derivation and verification of test requirements from system level seeker requirements
  • Development of test methodologies and interfaces, including hardware and software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to define and implement systems engineering processes and best practices
  • Oversee the integration of hardware and software components in a test environment, ensuring seamless operation and performance of the RF seeker system
  • Support production and capacity expansion initiatives by providing technical guidance and resolving engineering challenges
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to stakeholders, including program management and engineering leadership
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering and RF seeker technologies

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of engineering leadership (formal or informal)
  • Hands-on lab experience with test methodology, architecture, or design
  • Experience with Life-Cycle Development, Design Standards, Test Equipment design, or other Systems Engineering and Leadership principles
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical or computer engineering
  • 5+ years' experience defining equipment test plans on various products and assemblies using manual or automated test devices
  • Subject Matter expertise in electrical design with proven previous test equipment design experience
  • Experience with National Instrument's Lab-View and Test-Stand software
  • Experience utilizing lab electronic testing tools (Digital Multimeters (DMM), Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Function Generators, ...)

Summary pay range:
Lead (Level4): $136,850 - $185,150
Senior (Level 5): $164,900 - $223,100
