The Lead Contract Renewal Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Customer Success and Revenue Operations by managing the end-to-end contract renewal process for Billtrust customers. This role serves as the central point of coordination for renewal quotes, term updates, documentation accuracy, and timely execution of agreements. You will partner closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs), Legal, Finance, and Sales Operations to ensure a smooth and proactive renewal experience that protects revenue and strengthens long-term customer relationships.

What You’ll Do

Renewal Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of customer contract renewals, including outreach, timeline tracking, documentation preparation, and follow-through to signature.
  • Create and send renewal quotes, agreements, pricing summaries, and updated terms in coordination with CSMs and RevOps.
  • Maintain a proactive renewal cadence—ensuring no renewal dates are missed and all agreements are executed on time.
  • Track renewal status in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) and maintain accurate forecasting data.

Customer Coordination & Support

  • Communicate renewal details to customers, answer questions, and address issues regarding contract terms, billing, or service levels.
  • Partner with CSMs to deliver a consistent, customer-first renewal experience.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Legal on contract redlines, addendums, and approvals.
  • Coordinate with Finance/Accounting on billing changes, PO requirements, and pricing validation.
  • Partner with Sales Operations to ensure data accuracy across renewal pipelines and internal systems.

Process Improvement

  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in the renewal workflow and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy, speed, and customer experience.
  • Maintain contract templates, renewal playbooks, and documentation for internal teams.
What You Bring 
  • 7+ years of experience in contract management, revenue operations, customer success, or sales operations—ideally in a SaaS or subscription-based business.
  • Strong understanding of contract structures, pricing models, amendments, and renewal cycles.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to manage many renewals simultaneously with speed and accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort working with legal documents.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with customers and internal stakeholders professionally.
  • Experience with CRM and contract tools .
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, problem-solve, and drive tasks to completion with minimal oversight.

The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $103,000 annually.
Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
