Job Overview
The Lab Product Specialist primarily supports clinical business development teams in the US and Europe by identifying laboratory service opportunities within client RFPs, positioning Novotech Laboratory capabilities as part of integrated clinical development solutions, and developing targeted proposals tailored to sponsor needs. This role serves as the key liaison between clinical BD, proposal/contract teams, laboratory operations, and clients to ensure appropriate lab services are included in bids, client requirements are clearly understood, and follow-up actions are effectively managed with the ultimate goal of winning laboratory business opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Actively support CRO BDs on opportunities which can add lab business in.
- Also can client facing in below situations, e.g. participating in exhibitions, follow-up lab standalone opportunities, maintain in-depth relationship with key stakeholders for lab business in target clients.
- Maintain and update general knowledge of Novotech Lab services and capabilities.
- Analyze potential opportunities and develop sales plan for each target account, ensure proper strategy and solutions are proposed to clients.
- Make sure the actions and results are following the plans.
- Coordinate with Lab Tech Support team to develop lab proposals and budgets.
- Prepare bidding presentations and attend the BDM to present the lab services.
- Aggressively pursue awareness of competitive information, positioning and pricing, reasons for awards and non-awards.
- Follow up after winning activities to drive the deal completion.
- Maintain high visibility within customer organization and monitor customer satisfaction by regular communication with clients.
- Maintain appropriate sales activity data within Salesforce.
- Take on other tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above preferred.
- 5+ years of sales experience in the life sciences industry required.
- Experience in laboratory BD role is preferred. Proven track record in past 2 years.
- Basic knowledge about Bio-analytical / Central Lab is required.
- Excellent business/industry awareness and understanding of industry trends and impact on the business.
- Ability to maintain demanding timelines
- Ability to influence others, both internally and externally.
- Adaptability and flexibility to handle multiple tasks in parallel with high quality deliverables.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Must be reliable, highly motivated, well-organized, results-oriented, customer-focused, and possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- At least 30% of travel is required.
The salary range for this position is $135,000 - 160,000 based upon experience.
