Position Summary

The Systems Administrator will help keep our technology infrastructure running smoothly and securely. The role will be a visible, helpful presence for the people who depend on technology every day. This role will split time between infrastructure and security fundamentals (patching, backups, account administration, endpoint protection) and frontline support, including basic tech literacy training and hands-on help desk coverage for everyday issues such as account lockouts, printer problems, and hardware troubleshooting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and device configuration across the company's systems
  • Support day-to-day server, network, and cloud infrastructure upkeep — patching, backups, monitoring, and routine maintenance
  • Assist with provisioning and deprovisioning equipment and accounts for new hires, transfers, and departures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and connectivity, and support warehouse/production technology such as handheld scanners

Security Fundamentals

  • Support endpoint protection, patch management, and basic vulnerability remediation under the guidance of our senior security staff
  • Help enforce access control practices (MFA, least-privilege permissions) and assist with periodic access reviews
  • Follow and help document incident response procedures; escalate anomalies promptly

Help Desk & Frontline Support

  • Frontline tech support — triaging and resolving everyday issues (printers, peripherals, account access, basic troubleshooting) and logging them in our ticketing system
  • Participate in delivering basic tech literacy training to staff — practical, plain-language sessions on the tools people use daily (not deep technical training)
  • Be a friendly first point of contact for non-technical staff and represent the technology team well in day-to-day interactions
  • Escalate more complex infrastructure, security, ERP, or POS issues to the appropriate senior team member with clear documentation of what's already been tried

POS Configuration/Administration

  • Maintain POS configurations for franchise and company-owned stores for any items not covered by partner agreements

Documentation

  • Keep runbooks, help desk knowledge-base articles, and training materials current so issues can be resolved consistently, whoever's on rotation
  • Log and categorize issues clearly enough that another team member could pick up a ticket and act on it without needing to ask follow-up questions

Education, Experience & Skills

  • 6 months to 1.5 years of hands-on IT/systems administration experience (internships, help desk roles, and certification-backed self-study count)
  • Working familiarity with Windows/Active Directory or a cloud directory service (Azure AD/Entra ID), basic networking concepts, and common endpoint security tools
  • Comfortable troubleshooting under pressure and communicating clearly with non-technical staff — this role is as much about people as it is about systems
  • Willingness and reliability to take regular rotations on frontline help desk coverage
  • Strong documentation habits — you write things down so the next person doesn't have to start from scratch
  • Nice to have: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ (or actively working toward one)

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily office-based within a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
  • Regular interaction with manufacturing, warehouse, production, distribution, retail, and office personnel.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
  • Occasionally required to lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
