Vertiv is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Internal Audit Operations Specialist to join Global Risk Oversight (GRO) and conduct impactful operational site audits across our global manufacturing footprint. This role will be critical in advancing operational excellence, assessing internal controls, and providing risk-based insights to our manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, and engineering functions. In the role, the successful candidate will provide valuable risk mitigation insights, increase internal control awareness, and be a conduit for positive change and continuous improvement. 

The mission of the Global Risk Oversight function is to protect and enhance Vertiv’s value by delivering risk management services that support the organization in managing known and emerging risks, by providing independent assurance, promoting ethical conduct, and driving continuous improvement into its business processes and controls to achieve financial and operational excellence.

Responsibilities: 

  • Independently and objectively plan and execute audits in accordance with professional auditing standards and GRO methodology.
  • Collaborate closely with functional management (e.g., Quality, Engineering, Procurement) to understand business priorities and emerging risks.
  • Lead operational site audits covering the following areas:
    • Procurement and sourcing
    • Logistics and distribution
    • Manufacturing and production planning
    • Engineering and change management
    • Inventory, materials, and warehouse management
    • Quality process controls
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls related to product quality, on-time delivery, cost control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to site management, delivering recommendations that drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance internal controls.
  • Conduct and lead SIOP maturity assessments and special projects.
  • Communicate results of audit and consulting projects in a clear and concise manner that is aligned with the audience.
  • Provide direct assistance in supporting global SOX audits. 
  • Comply with internal policies, procedures, and practices. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain, operations management, or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in internal audit, quality, or operations in global manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, lean/Six Sigma, and operational KPIs 
  • Familiarity with global standards such as ISO 9001, CMMI, and EHS frameworks is highly desirable
  • Certifications preferred (CIA, CSCP, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency with analytics tools (e.g., ACL, Power BI, Tableau) a plus
  • Comfortable working in demanding environments
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Oracle financial module familiarity is a plus
  • Big 4 and/or public accounting experience is a plus

Time Travel Required: 

  • 50% to 75% travel (domestic and international)
