About the Team

The OpenAI Brand & Reputation team builds positive perceptions of the company by making AI’s benefits and OpenAI’s contribution clear. Our work brings together positive-impact storytelling, community programs and visible company action to give people a reason to believe in what we’re building.

We tell real people’s stories, work with partners to expand opportunities for communities to learn and apply AI, and develop campaigns around research breakthroughs, product improvements and meaningful company progress on the issues people care about. We bring audience insight into close collaboration with teams across the company, grounding our work in tangible outcomes and measuring how it strengthens belief in our positive societal impact and favorability toward the company.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Integrated Marketing Manager to develop and deliver campaigns across policy and reputation priorities, including data centers, jobs and economic opportunity.

You’ll translate complex issues into clear messaging and integrated plans for consumer, policy and community audiences. You’ll work closely with our policy and reputation marketing lead, internal partners and agencies to bring those plans to life, including in specific markets and local communities.

This role suits someone who combines campaign judgment with strong execution. You can understand a local issue, identify the audience and build a plan that responds to what matters to them.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop campaign strategies and briefs that connect audience insights, policy context and clear objectives.

  • Own integrated campaigns from creative development and media planning through launch, optimization and evaluation.

  • Adapt messaging and activation plans to local markets, communities and stakeholders.

  • Align Global Affairs, Communications, Social, Creative, media, Legal, Research, Product and regional teams around paid, owned and earned campaigns.

  • Lead creative, media and production agencies and local partners, owning briefs, scopes, budgets, timelines and success criteria.

  • Use research, polling, audience data, campaign results and partner feedback to test, optimize and improve outcomes.

You will thrive in this role if you:
  • Have 8+ years in integrated marketing, public affairs, political or advocacy campaigns, or related work, including 3+ leading complex cross-channel campaigns.

  • Bring experience with local or community-facing campaigns and understand how audiences differ across markets.

  • Can turn complex or sensitive issues into clear, accurate and relevant messaging.

  • Can influence senior leaders and align teams around clear recommendations grounded in audience and performance insights.

  • Bring strong creative judgment, experience managing senior agency relationships and the ability to give clear, actionable feedback.

  • Have delivered campaigns across channels such as TV, OOH, digital, social, performance media, direct mail and events.

  • Make sound decisions with incomplete information and adapt quickly in fast-moving, high-scrutiny environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in technology policy, reputation marketing, legislative affairs or a public affairs agency.

  • Experience engaging consumer, policy and institutional audiences.

  • Familiarity with AI and the public conversations surrounding its development and use.

  • Experience with rapid-response communications or high-stakes launches.

Workplace & Contract Details
  • Location and working arrangement: DC, SF, Remote

  • Contract duration and anticipated start date: Dec 1 - 6 months
