We are seeking an experienced and passionate senior operations manager to join Yahoo’s Inclusive Design Team. In this role, you will be pivotal in fostering a culture of accessibility and usability across all our products and platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the use and operation of assistive technology across desktop, mobile web and native apps. You will assist the management of new testing strategies as well as relationships with internal and external partners.

Your responsibilities will focus on accessibility-focused training, coaching, communications, vendor management, and the creation of new accessibility resources which ensure our products are compatible with the broad range of assistive technology used by individuals with disabilities.

In a given day you might find yourself:
  • Creating and organizing resources to make accessibility knowledge available across Yahoo.

  • Interpreting and applying a deep understanding of WCAG guidelines and other relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Managing relationships with external accessibility testing vendors, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their results.

  • Participating in inclusive design reviews and offering best practices.

  • Managing multiple projects, initiatives, and communications across the Inclusive Design team and our cross-functional partners.

High-level responsibilities:
  • Communications: Create and disseminate clear, concise, and engaging communications about accessibility updates, best practices, and policy changes. Build cross-functional relationships in a complex organization which fosters a culture of accessibility awareness and advocacy.

  • Guidance, Policies, and Resources: Develop and maintain global accessibility guidelines, policies, and resources in-collaboration with the inclusive design team. Ensure these materials are up-to-date, accessible, and relevant to all teams.

  • Vendor Management & Quality Assurance: Manage strategic relationships with external vendors for accessibility testing, audits, and support. Ensure vendors adhere to our accessibility standards and deliver high-quality services.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Serve as a subject matter expert on global accessibility requirements. Assist the strategic tracking of continuous legal compliance, mitigating legal risks.

Requirements:
  •  8+ years of professional experience driving accessibility progress across UX, design, and cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency with a wide range of assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control software) and experience using these products with individuals with disabilities.

  • Deep and current knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and AAA guidelines, as well as significant familiarity with ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, European Accessibility Act (EAA), and other relevant international accessibility laws and standards.

  • Demonstrated bias toward action and agility carrying multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on time.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build mutually-beneficial relationships in a complex organizational landscape. 

  • Experience in vendor management and process implementation.

  • CPACC or similar certification (preferred)

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,625.00 - $230,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
