All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.

Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.

Overview

JerseySTEM is looking for talented professionals across our departments to commit time and energy as long-term engagement for our mission to provide STEM education to underrepresented middle school girls.


The Recruiter/Business Partner will be perform the recruiting function within JerseySTEM. This position has the opportunity to join a team to support JerseySTEM's mission. Also, you will have the opportunity to bring creative ideas to develop recruiting programs and streamline processes associated with the entire recruitment function.

Responsibilities
  • Attend virtual team meetings weekly on Mondays 8 PM EST and report on progress of requisitions assigned to you.
  • Support an assigned Department as a Recruiting partner and conduct interviews as needed.
  • In partnership with Department leadership, use iCIMS to screen applications and coordinate interviews.
  • Engage with candidates during the offer and onboarding process.
  • Source and engage passive candidates interested in pro-bono work on LinkedIn, etc.
  • In partnership with Department leadership, review member activity and offboard departing candidates.
  • Maintain the org chart for the assigned Department.
  • Draft/update job descriptions as needed.
  • Ensure there is a proper record of background check of the candidate (when applicable).
  • 6 hours/week; Minimum 6 months commitment.
Qualifications
  • Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap
  • Knowledge using iCIMS, Slack, Salesforce, and JIRA is preferred
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and can think big picture
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Operationally-savvy
  • Experience with Talent Acquisition/Recruiting Operations
  • Previous background with streamlining processes and creating recruiting programs is preferred
  • Experience with start-up/ non-profit environment is preferred
