Position Summary

The HR Operations Generalist owns the administration of employee benefits, leave of absence programs, HR systems, employee inquiries, and supports payroll operations. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employees seeking assistance with benefits, leave, and HR-related processes while ensuring accurate data management and timely follow-up across multiple HR programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Benefits Administration

• Interpret benefit plan provisions and company policy to resolve complex employee benefit issues and determine appropriate resolution or escalation.

• Assist employees with benefit enrollment, qualifying life event (QLE) changes, and benefits-related documentation.

• Maintain accurate employee benefit records within HRIS systems.

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable on management of HR vendor invoices

• Support annual Open Enrollment activities, including system setup, testing, employee communications, and issue resolution.


Leave of Absence Administration

• Coordinate and track leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, and other company leave programs.

• Evaluate leave requests for policy eligibility, determine appropriate leave designation, coordinate interactive accommodation discussions, and recommend appropriate courses of action to HR leadership.


HR Operations & Employee Support

• Analyze employee inquiries, interpret company policies, determine appropriate resolutions, and advise employees and managers regarding HR procedures.

• Manage and update employee records within Paycom and other HR systems.

• Maintain HR resource materials, including HR SharePoint site.

• Assist with document management, mail sorting, scanning, and record retention processes.


Payroll & Compliance Support

• Serve as backup support for payroll processing activities.

• Assist with payroll audits, data verification, and employee payroll inquiries.

• Administer wage garnishments and related documentation.


HR Programs & Compliance

• Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned HR operational programs. 

• Interpret HR policies and recommend appropriate application based on individual circumstances.

• Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop and improve HR procedures and documentation. .

• Conduct audits of HR, payroll, benefits, and leave processes and recommend corrective actions.

• Recommend HRIS enhancements and workflow automation opportunities.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required


• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 4-6 years of experience in HR operations, benefits administration, absence management, payroll or related disciplines.

• Experience working with HRIS systems; Paycom experience preferred.

• Knowledge of employee benefits, leave administration, and HR processes.

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.


Preferred

• Experience supporting FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave administration.

• Payroll processing experience.

• Experience supporting Open Enrollment administration.

• Knowledge of garnishment processing.

• HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, FPC, or CPP) preferred.
