Ever dreamed of being a cowboy or cowgirl and working in tech? At Halter, you can do both. We are the world’s leading provider of virtual fencing technology, and we’re on a mission to make 50% of the planet’s land more productive and sustainable. As Head of US Operations, you’ll be the force that keeps our US engine running at full speed.

In this role, you’ll lead the execution of our global operations strategy on US soil. That means working directly with local leaders across logistics, onboarding, support, and fleet teams, ensuring they’re aligned, resourced, and delivering against the frameworks and priorities set by our global functional heads. You’ll be the connector between vision and action.

You’ll be collaborating closely with Product, Commercial, and Engineering teams in both the US and NZ, and adapting global systems to work seamlessly in the local market. Whether it’s building a regional logistics plan, solving operational challenges in the field, or putting up towers with your team, you’ll lead from the front and ensure every rancher we serve experiences world-class execution from day one.

This role is based in our Boulder, CO, HQ. Frequent travel is required as part of the position.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and co-ordinating our US based operational leaders: You’ll be the on-the-ground leader for our US operations teams, making sure our functional managers are set up to execute their day-to-day operations in line with the global goals and strategy as set by our department leads in NZ. Whether it’s logistics, support, or production, you’ll be the go-to for coordination, prioritisation, and keeping the US team moving in sync with the global plan.  Note; this operating model follows the ‘helix ‘structure’, meaning you will run day-to-day operations and keep everything and everyone pointed in the same direction, while global leaders will set the functional strategy and standards to be executed against.
  • Drive the execution of our US logistics strategy: Halter is both a software and hardware company, meaning we need to get the product from the manufacturer to the warehouse and to a customer’s doorstep. This takes a complex web of shipping providers, pick/pack providers, logistics, tracking systems, etc. You would be responsible for ensuring our global logistics strategy runs like clock-work in the US, working with the global functional leader to ensure this is fit for purpose both today and to support for future scale.
  • Lead a world-class onboarding team: All customer touchpoints are extremely important, but none more than the first interaction after they sign up with Halter. You will support the US onboarding team with delivering the very best onboarding experience, balancing global best practice as defined by our global strategy, and ensuring this is adapted for local requirements.
  • Oversee a premium support team: Oversee Halter’s US support function, aligning with the global support lead and APAC team to deliver an ‘always on’ 24/7 cross-timezone support model. You’ll work with our US support leader to foster the team to build strong feedback loops with Territory Managers, Product, Engineering, and Logistics, using data and insights to deliver premium customer support outcomes
  • Support of hardware deployments: You’ll oversee our on-site fleet during farm deployments, troubleshooting issues and ensuring successful installations. You will work with our US operational leaders to establish a process for ensuring quick resolution both remotely and in person across the US.
  • Diagnose complex hardware issues: You and your team are able to diagnose any issues with our hardware and feed this information back to the relevant team. Fixing issues in a silo helps no one, so you ensure that any and all relevant information is shared globally to provide our customers with the very best outcomes possible. You’re a natural problem solver and like to build teams that also share in those challenges.
