About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Dealer Finance to Lead Wells Fargo Equipment Finance's national Dealer Finance Platform across construction, transportation, and agriculture, with full accountability for strategy, growth, and financial performance. This leader will unify the platform's commercial capabilities, drive disciplined portfolio expansion and risk-adjusted returns, strengthen dealer and OEM relationships, and coordinate enterprise partnerships to position Wells Fargo as dealers' primary capital provider.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead functional area team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables, interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk product or service
  • Lead the team to review and analyze highly complex or strategic client portfolios for key issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral/enterprise value analysis, and repayment sources, including for use in periodic reviews as well as interim underwriting memoranda
  • Develop product education and strategies within the context of individual deals and client relationships to continually develop teams to anticipate and understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to identify opportunities for modifications, renewals, and refinancings
  • Manage multiple products, specialties, or teams of individuals and provide leadership for highly complex or strategic modifications, renewals, and refinancings, including assessing a client's financial position and risk level for both prospective clients and existing clients
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership to lead the strategy and resolution of more complex to highly complex scenarios and unique challenges by synthesizing industry and economic trends, including legal and regulatory issues, in addition to regular portfolio reviews to manage risk and lead problem loan resolutions, where applicable
  • Strategically lead all levels across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with higher complexity and risk that may have an impact on multiple products or specialties
  • Partner with product management functional partners to provide vision, leadership and industry expertise on client and market needs that enable large-scale companywide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and influence financial operations that ensure the initial set up and management of the portfolio adheres to all applicable credit policies or compliance requirements and prepare for periodic exams by internal and external auditors
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives for multiple products or specialties
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience

  • Deep expertise in equipment finance, dealer finance, inventory finance, or commercial lending.
  • Proven success leading large, geographically dispersed teams and complex business platforms.
  • Strong strategic planning, portfolio management, and risk management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and expand dealer, OEM, and client relationships.
  • Executive presence with experience influencing senior leaders and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and talent development skills.
  • Experience managing through changing market conditions while balancing growth and credit quality.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel 25% or more
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule
  • Current requirements are 4 days in-office
