🚀 ABOUT FATHOM
We think it’s insane that so many people and businesses rely on notes to remember and share insights from their meetings.
Notes are time-consuming and stressful to create while trying to hold a conversation. Even when done well, notes are a poor solution compared to hearing something first-hand.
We started Fathom to rid us all of the tyranny of note-taking, and people seem to really love what we've built so far:
🥇 #1 Highest Satisfaction Product of 2024 on G2
🔥 #1 Rated on G2 with 4,500+ reviews and a perfect 5/5 rating
🥇 #1 Product of the Day and #2 AI Product of the Year
🚀 Most installed AI meeting assistant on both the Zoom and HubSpot marketplaces
📈 We’re hitting usage and revenue records every week
We're growing incredibly quickly, so we're looking to grow our small but mighty fully remote team.

ABOUT THE ROLEWe’re hiring a Head of Data to help Fathom level up how we use data to make decisions across the company. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll work directly with data, mentor our data scientists, and partner with stakeholders in Marketing, Sales, and Product to shape a smart, scalable data org.
Roughly a third of your time will be spent doing IC work (writing SQL, running analysis), a third managing and mentoring the data team, and a third aligning with business leaders to drive the right priorities. This is a perfect fit for someone who can alternate between deep technical work and executive-level collaboration—with strong business intuition and a pragmatic mindset.
This role is open to candidates based in the U.S. and is fully remote.
WHAT YOU'LL DOBy 30 Days:
Understand our key data sources, pipelines, and current reporting structure.
Begin collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and Product leaders to understand their priorities.
Lead scoping and review of in-flight data requests to identify immediate gaps or misalignment.
By 90 Days:
Stand up a simple but effective stakeholder intake and prioritization process.
Ensure 5–6 core metrics are defined clearly and yield consistent results across tools like BigQuery, HubSpot, and ChartMogul.
Coach and mentor existing data scientists; identify gaps or resourcing needs.
By 6 Months:
Become a trusted thought partner to the leadership team—someone people go to when they’re making important decisions.
Enable at least 3 major business decisions with work led by the data team.
Establish a clear quarterly roadmap for the data org, balancing foundational work and quick wins.
Hard Skills
Strong SQL and analytical modeling skills.
Experience working with modern data stacks (BigQuery, dbt, etc.).
Comfortable doing hands-on work—writing queries, reviewing dashboards, validating assumptions.
Prior experience building or leading data teams at a SaaS company.
Bonus: experience with data activation into tools like HubSpot or ChartMogul.
Soft Skills
A "nose for value"—you instinctively focus the team’s energy on the most impactful work.
Strong business intuition—you understand how go-to-market teams work and what they need.
Clear and proactive communicator, able to set expectations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborative and open-minded, but not afraid to say no.
High sense of ownership—you make the machine run and flag what needs to be fixed before it breaks.
The opportunity to define and lead the data strategy at a fast-growing company.
A role that blends IC work, leadership, and cross-functional influence.
A seat at the table during major company decisions.
Competitive compensation and benefits.
A collaborative and pragmatic team that values results over ceremony.
