Reports To: Senior Manager of Marketing

Job Description 

Marketing Representative is a hands-on, community-facing contributor to the marketing department in a single gym location. They are plugged into the scene at the gym, and are the marketing department’s connection with what’s happening. They will already work or climb in Thornton frequently, and this role will be in addition.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Essential must-dos:
    • Drive grassroots marketing efforts like street teams and neighbor outreach, building community relationships around gym
    • Assist with coupon redemption tracking
    • Collect videos and images for social media and other marketing purposes
    • Meet regularly with the marketing department to stay up-to-date on campaigns & events
    • Assist Operations department in maintaining updated marketing collateral within the gym (flyers, handouts, TV screens, price tags)
    • Collaborate with other Marketing Representatives to share best practices, resources and inspiration
    • Adapt to evolving company marketing priorities and take on additional marketing-related projects as assigned
  2. Additionally:
    • Maintain the gym’s social media profiles, posting community-oriented content that you collect alongside campaigns prepared by the marketing department
    • Assist Operations department in creating and printing marketing flyers from templates
    • Contribute to at least one company-wide marketing initiative, such as email marketing, website, advertising, design, photography or social media management, assigned in collaboration with the Marketing Manager based on business priorities, individual skillset and interests
    • Contribute to marketing performance tracking and reporting as needed

Compensation

  • $18–28/hour for 6-12 hours/week
  • Potential for additional hours during grassroots campaigns, events, and sales

Environmental and Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the facility for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Manual dexterity required for operating a computer keyboard, handling documents, and using office equipment
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly. 
  • Ability to see details of objects at close range.
  • Exposure to airborne chalk dust

Qualifications (Essential must-haves)

  • Personal passion for climbing and The Spot’s community
  • Ability to capture exciting and compelling images and videos
  • Comfort representing The Spot in public settings like events and street teams
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Familiarity with The Spot brand and ability to assume responsibilities with limited training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work with digital design templates to produce graphics
  • Comfort with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Youtube
  • Some experience in marketing, sales, Adobe, Wordpress, Mailchimp, content creation, or another creative field is preferred
