Smarkets is a sports trading operator challenging the status quo of betting. Our mission: deliver transparency, fair value, and best-in-class technology. Since 2010, our products — the Smarkets Exchange and SBK sportsbook app — have processed over $45bn in trading volume across the UK, US, and beyond.

Now, we’re expanding our US presence, and we’re looking for a Growth Marketing Lead, based in the Midwest to lead that charge.

Why this role?

This is a first-on-the-ground marketing role in the Midwest. You’ll own customer acquisition and retention across Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa — building from scratch, experimenting with channels, and acting as the local voice of the business.

It’s a hands-on role: one week you’re designing and testing a retention journey in Dotdigital; the next you’re briefing affiliates, localizing messaging for Indiana, or planning brand activations. You’ll be the bridge between our global team and US customers — scrappy, data-driven, and product-minded.

Success here means building ROI-positive growth, improving customer quality, and scaling sustainably in a highly competitive space.

What you’ll do:

- Own acquisition

+ retention across Midwest states

- Run CAC/LTV experiments across paid, affiliate, lifecycle

- Localize brand

+ partnerships

- Drive CRM + lifecycle strategy

- Shape GTM roadmap with Product- Manage agencies

+ budgets

- Act as first US marketing hire

→ VP/GM trajectory

About you

- 5+ yrs in performance/growth/acquisition with channel ownership

- Sports betting / DFS / mobile gaming / ticketing background

- Product-first mindset- Startup/small-division experience

- Proven CAC/LTV, ROI-positive track record

- Strong with data/analytics

- Comfortable tactical + strategic

- High autonomy & ownership

Tools & Stack:

DotDigital (or similar CRM), analytics (Kibana, Sisense, Lightdash), workflow (Gitlab, Jira, Slack, GSuite)
