The role / impact
This is a strategic leadership position where you will act as the marketing authority for the Australia and New Zealand region, driving autonomy and alignment within a complex, matrixed environment. You will lead the development and execution of holistic Go-to-Market plans to acquire new customers, enter new segments, and deepen engagement with our existing two million subscribers, ultimately positioning Xero as the leading platform for small businesses.
You will sit on the regional leadership team, taking ownership of the end-to-end regional marketing strategy while ensuring our tactics are ambitious, effective, and aligned across all segments and channels. By connecting regional opportunities with global capabilities, you will play a crucial role in accelerating growth and delivering measurable business outcomes in one of our most significant markets.
The team & how they connect
You will lead, inspire, and develop a diverse regional marketing team of approximately 20 professionals covering paid advertising, brand, communications, and product marketing. Collaborating closely with the Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand and global functional leads, you will advocate for the region's needs and ensure local market opportunities are met with world-class marketing execution.
The team is currently working on / Initially, the role will focus on
Improving targeted B2B marketing strategies to cement our position as the leading small business platform.
Developing comprehensive Go-to-Market plans to successfully enter new customer segments.
Driving the growth and utilisation of additional products and services across our substantial existing subscriber base.
Aligning regional marketing levers with global capabilities and sales motions to deliver on growth commitments.

Broad expertise across key marketing disciplines including performance, brand, growth, and events, allowing you to guide a multi-functional team effectively.
An analytical and outcome-driven mindset, capable of connecting marketing strategy directly to business objectives and unit economics.
Proven ability to navigate a matrixed organisation, influencing stakeholders across regional leadership and global functional teams to drive results.
A background in technology companies, particularly those that have scaled through significant growth phases, would be highly valued.
You bring the ability to set and achieve ambitious, quantifiable goals while advocating for the specific needs of your market.
Collaborative leadership skills to build trust and rapport with cross-functional partners, particularly within sales and product.
