General Summary

At TrainingPeaks, partnerships are central to our mission of maximizing the potential of coaches and empowering athletes to perform at their best. The Global Partnerships Manager is a key contributor to our growth strategy and is responsible for managing and growing relationships with partners around the world.

This role combines strategic vision, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to expand market share, enhance brand awareness, and drive customer acquisition. 

Today, we have nearly 200 partnerships under contract globally, including national governing bodies in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, France, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Italy, and beyond. Our 48 team sponsorships span cycling, triathlon, windsurfing, and sailing, and over the last decade, a TrainingPeaks-sponsored team has won the Tour de France nine times. We collaborate closely with leading device manufacturers like Garmin, Wahoo, Apple, COROS, Polar, Suunto, and Whoop, as well as app developers including MyFitnessPal, Zwift, FORM, and Fuelin. We also maintain a strong presence at premier events such as IRONMAN, RRCA, and NSCA to engage with coaches and industry partners.

In this role, you will oversee these relationships while identifying new opportunities to expand market share, enhance brand awareness, and drive customer acquisition. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of the endurance sports industry, making a tangible impact on coaches, athletes, and the broader fitness community.

Core Functions: 

  • Identify and cultivate new partnerships with national governing bodies, teams, athletes, event promoters, device manufacturers, app developers, and coaches.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and Product teams to evaluate opportunities, onboard new partners, and optimize existing relationships.
  • Strengthen existing partnerships by developing a deep understanding of each partner’s motivations, goals, and success metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align partnership objectives with company goals and customer needs, creating mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Align partnership initiatives with broader marketing and product strategies to drive customer engagement and growth.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to plan and execute partnership activations, both digital and physical, to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Conduct regular reviews with internal stakeholders to evaluate contract performance, reconcile budgets, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Manage logistics and represent the company at sports events, expos, and tradeshows.
  • Manage sponsorship-related travel budgets and ensure cost-effective execution of event activations.
  • Monitor partnership performance using KPIs and analytics to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience managing partnerships for a SaaS product company.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating digital and physical partnership activations.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with comfort interacting with anyone from professional athletes to C-level executives.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing for maximum impact on our business and our partner’s objectives.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a proven ability to work independently and solve problems creatively.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills, including experience in drafting and closing contracts.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 50% (including weekends) and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Comprehensive understanding of the endurance sports and fitness markets.
  • Personal experience as an athlete and/or coach.
  • Familiarity with the TrainingPeaks platform.
  • Technical proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Zendesk Sell), data analytics tools (e.g., Sigma), CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), and office suites (e.g., Google Docs).

Compensation

Peaksware/TrainingPeaks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The annual compensation range for this role in Colorado is $68,550 - $114,250. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

This role is eligible for variable compensation, including bonus.
