WGI is seeking a Geospatial Analyst II with 5 years of increasing technical knowledge in GIS, LiDAR, photogrammetry, remote sensing, or surveying  for our Huntsville, AL, or Lakewood, CO, office.


This position works in a team environment to execute geospatial tasks required to build data products that are both high accuracy and high quality. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation and maintenance of data, services and applications, with a primary focus on the development and distribution of aerial imagery, LiDAR, and other geospatial data products.

Responsibilities
  • Perform geospatial workflow processes using GIS and remote sensing technology, including pre-processing imagery, digitizing vector features, LiDAR classification for surface model development, DEM creation, hydrographic breakline extraction, and assisting with metadata and project reporting.
  • Perform hydrographic data conflation by integrating, reconciling, and quality-checking hydrographic features from multiple geospatial data sources.
  • Support geospatial standards, product generation, and geodatabase management by serving as a technical specialist.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
  • 5 years of increasing technical knowledge in GIS, LiDAR, photogrammetry, remote sensing, or surveying.
  • Experience with ESRI software, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcSDE/enterprise geodatabase environments, is required.
  • Experience with hydrographic data conflation, including integrating and reconciling hydrographic features from multiple sources, is required.
  • Experience with LiDAR classification for surface model development, DEM production, and hydrographic breakline extraction is preferred.
  • Experience with geospatial production tools (e.g., GeoCue, TerraScan, LP360, LAStools) is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment to execute geospatial workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience solving geospatial problems are highly desired.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visa.
