This role offers a unique opportunity to work on next-generation control systems for power generation facilities. As the energy sector evolves, there is a growing need to modernize how operators interact with and manage power plants while ensuring these systems remain secure and resilient. Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, present new opportunities to transform operational efficiency and effectiveness.
You will contribute to projects focused on advancing control system technologies, improving user experiences, and strengthening system security. This role provides exposure to multiple aspects of control system development, from platform development, user interface design to cyber security implementation.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities


  • Evaluate and develop technologies for modern control room environments
  • Support the design and development of the controls and HMI platform for reliable power plant operations
  • Support the design and prototyping of control system interfaces using simulation tools
  • Assist in implementing security controls and best practices for operational technology systems
  • Gather and analyze feedback from stakeholders to inform controls and platform design as well as security improvements
  • Contribute to documentation, templates, and standards that support customer operations
  • Explore opportunities to integrate advanced technologies into control systems
  • Evaluate computing technologies to support control system feature enhancements built on generative AI

Required Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 1 year of relevant experience post-graduation; or Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 year of relevant experience post-graduation.


Desired Qualifications


  • Experience in Human Machine Interface Design with Computer Programming knowledge, computer platform and network devices, or cyber security.
  • Interest in control systems, user interface design, computer platforms including operating system and hypervisors, network architecture and devices, or cyber security including compliance and security control implementations.
  • Awareness of large language and small language artificial intelligence models and prompt engineering
  • Familiarity with zero-trust cyber security principles
  • Basic knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA) or SCADA systems
  • Familiarity with network devices and configurations such as switches and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with design tools or security control principles
  • Awareness of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence

  • The required work location is Longmont, CO, or Greenville, SC, or Roanoke, VA, or Schenectady, NY (relocation assistance is available)

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $120,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
