Candidates should have senior marketing leadership experience, quantifiable results, budget and personnel authority, and the ability to diagnose marketing structures and gaps. Engagements are independent contractor assignments matched to institutional needs and candidate availability.
SimpsonScarborough is building a talent pipeline for our growing Fractional CMO service. We partner with higher education institutions navigating a leadership transition, a reorganization, a budget-constrained moment, or a period of significant change, giving them senior marketing leadership without forcing an immediate permanent hire.
What We're Looking For
- Senior marketing leadership experience (CMO, VP of Marketing, or equivalent)
- Higher education experience strongly preferred; comparable experience in complex, mission-driven institutions considered
- A track record of specific, quantifiable outcomes, beyond general oversight
- Experience holding real budget and personnel authority
- Comfort diagnosing a marketing function's structure and gaps
