Description
Sprout Social is looking to hire a FP&A Systems and AI Manager to the Finance team, reporting to the Director of Corporate FP&A.
Why join Sprout’s Finance team?
As a member of Sprout’s finance team, you’ll help better position Sprout for future growth while maintaining compliance and integrity at the highest level. No matter your role, everyone on the team has the opportunity to be a part of creating best-in-class processes and practices that can scale with the organization. Our team is unique because we value transparency and direct ownership of responsibilities - meaning, you’ll always have our trust to help contribute to our overall goals and success as a department and organization.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and continuously improve workflows in Pigment, enhancing existing processes and architecting new ones to support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and headcount planning.
- Train and empower finance business partners to become self-sufficient in Pigment, building their capability to construct their own models, dashboards, and reports without relying on a systems specialist.
- Act as a hands-on modeler, building and maintaining basic models directly in Pigment that will support foundational models used in planning cycles and ad hoc analysis.
- Own the health of Pigment's data pipelines–both within the platform and the integrations connecting it to external systems such as NetSuite, TeamOhana, and Salesforce–handling maintenance, enhancement, and issue resolution to ensure data flows accurately and on time.
- Serve as the FP&A team's AI evangelist - maximizing use of Pigment's native AI agents, setting up and maintaining integrations with Claude, and identifying new applications of AI that raise the quality, speed, and depth of the team's deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Pigment users across Finance, providing troubleshooting, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Partner with FP&A leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (Accounting, People, Data) to translate evolving business requirements into system enhancements and process improvements.
- Stay current on Pigment's product roadmap and broader FP&A tooling and AI trends, proactively identifying opportunities to adopt new capabilities.
What you’ll bring
Sprout Social is looking for a hands-on systems builder who thrives on solving problems inside enterprise planning tools and enjoys teaching others to do the same. You bring deep technical fluency in Pigment, a builder's instinct for automation and AI, and the communication skills to make technical concepts land with non-technical finance partners. Ideally, you are equally comfortable going deep in formula logic and owning data pipelines in Pigment as you are training a business partner to build their first model.
The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- Deep, hands-on experience with Pigment, including model architecture, formula logic, workflow design, and system administration.
- 3-5+ years of experience implementing Pigment or a comparable EPM/FP&A planning tool (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Planning), including hands-on build and configuration work.
- Experience building and maintaining data integrations between an EPM platform and external systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or HRIS/headcount tools (e.g., TeamOhana, Workday).
- Experience with SQL and a solid understanding of data flows, integrations, and governance across finance systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the demonstrated ability to train and enable non-technical business partners to build their own models, dashboards, and reports.
- Strong analytical instincts and attention to detail, with a track record of ensuring data integrity and system accuracy at scale.
- Genuine interest and hands-on experience applying AI and automation tools to finance workflows, with the curiosity and initiative to build new use cases.
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company.
- Familiarity with Pigment's native AI capabilities and experience integrating planning tools with LLMs such as Claude.
- Experience partnering directly with FP&A or corporate finance leadership to shape a systems and automation roadmap.
How you’ll grow
Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:
- Complete Sprout Social's new hire training & onboarding program alongside other new Sprout team members. You'll gain a broader understanding of our products and how your role fits into the organization.
- Partner with your manager to align on early priorities, define success in the role, and build a strategic command of Sprout's Pigment architecture, data pipelines, and integration ecosystem.
- Deconstruct existing Pigment workflows, data pipelines, and integrations with NetSuite, TeamOhana, and Salesforce to understand current state and pain points.
- Meet with finance business partners across the team to understand where they're bottlenecked and where self-sufficiency training would have the most impact.
Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:
- Delivering your first enhancements to existing Pigment workflows and beginning to build new ones.
- Standing up initial training sessions or documentation to help finance business partners build basic models and dashboards independently.
- Resolving priority data pipeline issues and stabilizing integrations between Pigment and external systems in partnership with the Business Systems team.
- Identifying and piloting your first AI use case—whether through Pigment's native AI agents or a Claude integration—to improve a specific team deliverable.
Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:
- Owning Pigment's internal and external data pipelines health end-to-end, with clear monitoring and issue-resolution processes in place in partnership with the Business Systems team.
- Measurably increasing finance business partner self-sufficiency, reducing reliance on you for routine model and dashboard builds.
- Scaling AI adoption across the FP&A team, with a defined set of use cases in active use.
- Serving as a hands-on modeler during critical planning cycles
Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:
- Operating as the go-to systems and AI expert for Sprout's FP&A function, trusted to architect new workflows and integrations independently.
- Having established a mature training program that keeps finance business partners self-sufficient as the team scales.
- Having built a track record of AI-driven improvements to the quality, speed, and depth of FP&A's deliverables.
- Defining the future evolution of Sprout's Pigment ecosystem and AI roadmap in partnership with FP&A leadership.
Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.
