Job Description:

Broadcom’s ASIC Product Division (APD) is focused on enabling customers to develop products with a sustainable and substantial competitive advantage.  APD does this by delivering best in class technology platforms, easy to integrate bleeding edge intellectual property, and by providing world class customer support.  APD’s customers span a wide range of industries developing ASICs for largest and most complex cloud computing AI engines, supercomputers, networking, to low power and most advanced wireless solutions, as some examples.

The Firmware Development Engineer will be part of a cross functional design and validation team.  The successful candidate will be developing and testing firmware for Broadcom's proprietary  High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) PHY IP, as well as die-to-die interconnect PHY IP, which are used broadly in our custom silicon ASIC products.  This individual must be highly motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Expertise in DDR or HBM memory system development and debug would be a plus. This position is located in Fort Collins, CO.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and 8+ years related experience.

  • Strong cross platform C/C++ programming experience.

  • Experience developing embedded firmware with direct low level HW interactions.

  • Experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Perl, bash etc.).

  • Experience working in Verilog (i.e SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL) test fixtures

Desired:

  • Knowledge of embedded firmware, real-time operating system (RTOS), and HW/SW interactions.

  • Experience with hardware/software debugging.

  • Experience with GIT, Gerrit, and Jenkins

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $107,000 - $190,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
